Joined in a battle for survival, a broken-winged angel and a shapeshifter huntress with a bloody past form a bond that may change their world.

Alone since her father's murder, Aurora has spent years hunting his killers. Battle-weary she's ready to start over where no one knows who or what she is, she just has one last mission to complete. Everything is going to plan until she discovers the beautiful winged girl caged underground.

Her decision to rescue Evie and to help her get home safely, despite avians being infamous for selling out shapeshifters like Aurora to cutters and black-market flesh dealers, will put her on a perilous path.

As the women travel together their attraction grows but Aurora is guarding her lonely heart almost as much as her dangerous secrets and Evie is struggling to accept how important Aurora has become to her.

When their enemies conspire to kill them, they may be each other's only hope. Aurora is powerful but she's also emotionally scarred and it will be up to Evie to save her from herself and to fight for them or innocent people will die along with the guilty ones and Aurora will disappear from Evie's life forever.

Contains mature themes.

Wow! Absolutely love this audiobook! This has probably made it into my top ten. The length didn’t worry me but I wasn’t 100% sure about the whole fantasy thing. That being said, it was narrated by Abby Craden so I took a chance on it. I’ve never read a les-fantasy that was done particularly well. After the first chapter however, I was hooked!

I read lesbian romance for the romance and this one didn’t disappoint. Very swoon-worthy and great chemistry between the two MCs! But besides that, there was also a great amount of action and adventure. It was also quite funny in parts and the dialogue is great.

I have to disagree with the other review here about the narrator. Abby Craden is brilliant and absolutely my favorite narrator! It’s really difficult for me to listen to an audiobook when she’s not narrating. I literally search les-audiobooks almost exclusively by searching Abby Craden. So, Emily Noon, please, please, please continue to use Abby Craden for all your audiobooks!!

Brilliant!

This book has it all; interesting developed characters, drama, action, adventure, heroines, and villains. Emily Noon created a fabulous characters within a magical world. Excellent story weaving. Abby Craden is perfection, as always. I will be listening to this again!

This book deserves 10 stars!

I went into this book thinking it will be a little corny, cat that falls in love with a bird. But, the character building and relationship intensity grew beautifully. It’s hard to write about the things I liked without revealing some of the little surprises that I enjoyed in the storyline. Even with it being in a fantasy world, it wasn’t full of complications of trying to learn a history of politics. It was very relatable in emotions and the dark side and light sides of humanity (or fantasy races). I found myself listening this book twice. I missed the characters after the book was finish. It’s so beautifully written and just made me want more of a book that I actually thought wouldn’t pull me in as much as it did. I would like to see more stories from this author. Having just one book is the hardest tease of all, but it makes me wonder if this book must of been from a special place in the writer’s heart. I hope to hear/read from her talents again.

Caught off guard

I bought this book last week and I've listened to it twice all the way through back-to-back, and now I don't know what to do with myself. My only hope is that Emily Noon is hard at work on her second novel and isn't going to George RR Martin the next one!

This is a beautifully written sapphic love story full of adventure, heroic rescues, emotional strength, passion and revenge! I'm probably going to listen to this again (and again). I just can't get enough of Aurora and Evie and the spellbinding world that Emily Noon so artfully and vividly painted. Written in such a powerfully evocative way, I'm absolutely captivated.

Abby Craden did a really superb job of narrating and imbuing personality into the voices of the characters. Overall this is easily my favourite book of the year, and I highly recommend it to one and all.

I don't want to oversell this but...

A nocturnal huntress with a mysterious past and far too many enemies takes a chance to save a winged woman, changing both their lives and the fate of the world's great houses.

Aurora's Angle is a delightfully exciting and sapphic tale set in a fantasy world that connects to the real human world. A physically strong yet emotionally vulnerable huntress with a dark past and an uncertain future pairs well with the softer, lighthearted, yet razor-sharp-personality winged woman. Their contrasts provide a beautiful symmetry, allowing for interesting interactions and something for nearly any sort of reader to identify with. While the story remains reasonably constrained to the protagonists and their direct experiences, enough interesting side characters, setting elements, and allusions to other places and people leave the reader feeling like the vibrant setting is realistic.

The world is reasonably fleshed out, but there is much room to grow. It feels like many more stories could be set in the rich setting, and plenty of lands remain to be explored – such the mysterious border between the human world and the world of magic, the great houses of the winded shape changers, or perhaps the mysterious world of dragons. The soft magic system constantly reveals new aspects of the protagonists' powers, yet this feels natural, not situational, nor ad hoc.

If you like sapphic romance set to a good, fulfilling, and engaging story that will leave you feeling giddy, this is the story for you.

I hope for a sequel or another story set in the same world.
