Deciding I better uncover the truth if I want to avoid ending up in an orange jumpsuit, I team up with a big-hearted pixie, a troll with a knack for numbers, and a chatty parrot who just doesn’t know when to shut up. Things take a dangerous turn, and it isn’t long before the killer is breathing down my neck. Yes, I know breathing down necks is kind of a vampire’s main gig… but let’s be real, it’s downright creepy.

As the bodies start piling up and the stakes get higher, I can’t help but wonder if I’ll be able to crack the case before it’s too late. This is a clean paranormal cozy mystery series with a side of humor, that features a vampire veterinarian who stumbles into trouble while trying to take care of her patients... those of the normal and the supernatural variety.

Good story and entertaining

This was such a cute little story. It was highly entertaining, and I enjoyed a lot of of the content. However, the main character got a little bit, annoying at her neurotic lack of self-confidence and it just didn’t mess with what she was doing, and it felt like the fantasy parts of it. We’re just kind of sprinkled in so that they could tag it as a paranormal, but they didn’t really go into anything about the paranormal. It was just kind of like a sideline on the story so I was a little bit disappointed. However, the story overall was amazing so I only docked one point.

Not my favorite, but it was good.

Likes: silliness of the names. The idea of a vamp vet.
Dislikes: The narrator was a bit breathy. She sounds over excited. There are a few issues that bothered me with the story… she Kris saying she thinks the cops are pinning a murder in her but they weren’t, she also thinks the cops couldn’t solve it without her. Those things need to be beefed out a bit. Also… I’m not buying that the human patients weren’t suspicious of the paranormal patients, such as seven foot Trolls needing dental work…
The characters could also be a bit deeper. It’s also gets a bit tedious her not being scores to sleep and eat. Also she can only glamor some one but when she’s in trouble she doesn’t… I would like to see in future books more three dimensional characters and fit heavens sake get this girl some friends.

Seriously, if you’re needing a light listen it’s not bad… it’s just not great. 👍

intriguing and engaging

loved listening to the voices with a good story that I could listen to with my family if I wanted. I was engaged and kept wanting to listen. It was a fun story and I'm exited for the next and other future books to come out.

The story was okay, but the narrator’s sing-song way of reading it was incredibly annoying.

cute easy listen. and you can never go wrong with narrators Bridget and Jake Bordeaux. best husband wife duo.
