Battered and broken, Rowan once again refuses to die.

Deep within the bowels of the earth, he wakes to find himself cut off from the world, his mana paths severed, and trapped within a strange dungeon: the Dracoludus.

Guarded by an ancient dragon who holds the only key to his escape, Rowan must grow stronger, and fast. For even if his friends survived the events of Miriarda Forest, then they are still in mortal danger, stalked by a genocidal cult who will stop at nothing to see their god returned to the continent.

Now, Rowan will need to prove that a mere street rat can ascend to threaten both dragons and gods if he wants to survive. For time is running out.

This is the kind of book series. I wish I had found five years in the future when the complete series is done and I can just binge the whole thing. I have very view nitpicks with a story.
1. Can we finally see some use out of the whip? He’s used it once out of three books.
2. Man, there are some moments where the battles seems to drag on. I am so incredibly grateful that we skipped through most of the cult dens. Because the blow by blow on no name, pack leaders was beginning to wear on me.
Overall, great book I’ll be chomping at the bit waiting for the fourth.

And now I have to wait

Excellent installment in this well-written fantasy, a cut above most in the genre. I loved the progression of Rowan in the dungeon, probably more than the other two thirds, but enjoyed it all. All of the "good side" female characters are distinct and strong in their own ways. The author, M.E. Robinson, is superb at plotting, character development, and story telling. Superb narration by Pavi Proczko.

Loremaster: Dragon’s Key by Ben Henley was a solid continuation of Rowan’s journey, full of tension and clever world building. The narrator, Travis Baldree, brought the characters to life perfectly, especially during Rowan’s desperate moments in the Dracoludus. I really enjoyed seeing how Rowan, cut off from his mana and trapped with an ancient dragon, still found ways to fight back and grow stronger.

Another fun one! I generally really enjoy the academy setting in books but here we got a break from that setting. Rowan finds himself in a much more dire situations which creates a lot more opportunities for growth. I love getting a front row seat to see that advanced. The plot was entertaining and things move along at a great pace. The narrator did a great.

So far, this one is my favorite from the series. I just wish there were more chapters after the reunion.

went through it too fast

I am torn on this one. While I did enjoy large parts of it, there is a major downside of lazy writing.

For some reason the author feels the need to repeat the same plot of every book. That being minor growth and victories followed by some big set back defeat.

Book one and two had it and so does book three.. Every time the MC gets ahead some big surprised event sets him back further. It's just no fun because you know every time he gains anything hes about to lose twice as much.

Its lazy to keep repeating the same setup. The MC needs some major gain victories without huge setbacks to make them feel unimportant.

At this point the book seems like its going lead to a no win conclusion where the MC only wins due to luck and duex ex. Not skills or planning but some random last minute save. Which is by far the worst way to resolve a book. The no hope but pulls it out in the end isn't inspiring or shocking its boring lazy writing that took no thought to plan out for a victory. Might as well say a random meteor fell from the sky and killed the wolf god at the last minute.

Repeated Plotline

I absolutely loved the first two books in this series but this one struggled. The story progression was slow and dragged out just to power scale the protagonist. All of the characters that played such big parts up to now are entirely ignored or get minimal time. The epilogue opens the series to more power scaling with little narrative value. I hope the next one is more like the first two.
