Hello, Transcriber

This book was amazing. I was pulled in by the story, captivated by the who dun it, and completely in love with Hannah’s writing!! Her verbiage was so intoxicating!

Enjoyable

This was more of a casual read for me and I enjoyed it for what it was. I liked the story and flew through this pretty quickly.

Meh.

This was ok. Atmospheric. But is it an atmosphere I want to spend time in? Also, is this a thriller, mystery or romance? Idk. It wasn’t terrible. But it wasn’t great.

Loved this book!

The narrator did such a great job and I loved the book as well. The main character was complex and I absolutely love Morrissey’s writing style.

What was the point of “El”

I would rather have heard about why Hazel’s marriage was the way it was rather than “El” once being Elliot. It brought nothing to the story. 🙄

from a different point of view

I was intrigued because the protagonist was a transcriptist on a police station. the plot kept me engaged. the story had good character development and the ending was unexpected. I recommend this book.

Well written story

I was disappointed with mispronunciation of several common words such as “bagel” but otherwise very well done

Bought on recommendation of an instagram post and was disappointed. It’s not trash but I wouldn’t recommend

The end, what?

There is No closure in the ending. Need an ending with a closure to the romance

Had potential, could have used more editing

The narrator of the book delivers a good performance, and the premise is strong. However, the book could have used a bit more editing. In an effort to be descriptive, the author overuses simile. Everything described in the book has to be “like” something else that is more artistic or deep. At first, I thought it may be a deliberate choice, given the protagonist is a writer and we’re hearing the story through her voice. Even if that was the intention, it’s still done to distraction. After a while it became a game to me to anticipate what comparison the author would make to the next mundane object she introduced. The ending was somewhat satisfactory, but I’m still deciding if it was worth it for all of the similes. I almost gave up on this book several times, but the storyline was compelling enough that I chose to see it through. For that reason, I would still recommend this book.
