The stunning new novel from Clare Mackintosh, the international bestselling author of I Let You Go and I See You.

The police say it was suicide. Anna says it was murder. They're both wrong.

Last year, Tom and Caroline Johnson chose to end their lives, one seemingly unable to live without the other. Their daughter, Anna, is struggling to come to terms with her parents' deaths, unwilling to accept the verdict of suicide.

Now with a baby herself, Anna feels her mother's absence keenly and is determined to find out what really happened to her parents. But as she digs up the past, someone is trying to stop her.

Sometimes it's safer to let things lie....

“Shrewd, skillful.”—Entertainment Weekly

“Instant gratification grip-lit of the highest order.”—Metro

“Constantly surprising and very twisty.”—Shari Lapena

“Clare Mackintosh has nailed it again. Let Me Lie is an emotional ride with fantastic twists.”—Fiona Barton, New York Times bestselling author of The Child

“Raced through Let Me Lie...inventive, twisting, and perfectly controlled.”—Sarah Vaughan, author of Anatomy of a Scandal

“Mackintosh’s three bar-raising psychological thrillers (starting with I Let You Go, 2016) have proven her adept at crafting compellingly flawed, authority-bucking characters and creating twists from the ripple effects of their relationships and personal issues, including abuse, mental illness, and alcoholism. This one’s perfect for Kate Atkinson and Tana French readers.”—Booklist (starred review)

Praise for I See You

“[A] deliciously creepy tale of urban paranoia.”—Ruth Ware, New York Times bestselling author of The Woman in Cabin 10

“An intense psychological thriller that I inhaled with my heart in my mouth...unsettling and claustrophobic read. Truly shuddersome.”—Mary Kubica, New York Times bestselling author of The Good Girl

On of the better psychological thrillers I have read here lately. The characters are very well developed. There is a bit of intrigue too. Even though I had parts figured out before they were revealed, the story kept my attention.

Very good psychological thriller

Wad confused at times. Didn't understand the hint in the end. Loved the interview at the end.

Good Listen

I'll admit this book has an interesting twist, for gullible old me. Beyond that, I didn't enjoy it. I was frustrated by some of the similarities to Girl on a Train (that were executed far better in that book). My biggest complaint is that I know very little more about the main character at the end of the book than I did at the beginning. She was exceptionally dull.

Interesting twist, but flat characters

The narrator reading this book ruined it for me. She sounds so robotic and is so boring that I found myself zoning out continuously. So unfortunately I returned the book after about 1/4 of the way through... I had little to no idea what was going on. However from what little I remember the story sounded very interesting! So I will buy this one in paper back and read it when I have time.

The story was engaging but definitely frustrating at times. The plausibility of certain situations comes into question at times and took me out of the story. There are twists, but not overly shocking ones in my opinion. All in all, it was a good book.

I Let You Go by Clare Mackintosh is a far superior book. Still...Let Me Lie was worth the credit and entertaining. I will be choosing more books from this author.

Enjoyable
