Fine but forgettable

Not really a review but I need to rant for a minute. I notice how many authors will describe people on their 50s/60s as grey, wrinkled, sickly, decrepit and mentally checked out. Every character who was just a generation beyond the people in their late 20s/early 30s are portrayed as elderly. It’s so strange and off putting.

Writing was okay, good narration

Similes, metaphors and adjectives galore (layered like colorful, tapestry rugs piled high at a open air market, with the sounds of vendors ringing in the air like plump crows roaming for scraps on a lonesome prairie). You get the idea; a bit distracting.

I couldn't stop listening

this was a very gripping suspenseful thriller. all the strong characters in this book were female, another plus. I listened to this over the last 2 days, it was that compelling. highly recommend.

A mother’s story

Well written and performed. Loved how the Author kept me on my toes. Could have gone several ways. A mother loves unconditionally.

Great narration. The story is Mesmerizing. There are twists and turns that keep you guessing

And I honestly thought I knew who had done it until the last three or four chapters. The narration was perfect, and basically, I couldn't be any happier with it.

An Interesting Tale

It took awhile to get into this book as I couldn't figure out where it was headed, but it captured my interest eventually and I wanted to know how it turned out. Not a great book, but a decent escapist novel/mystery.

I can usually guess a storyline long before the end of a 'who-done-it'. This one evaded my predictions and kept me listening for hours and hours non- stop. I highly recommend it if you like murder/disappearance mysteries.

Excellent!

Great mystery. I was hooked from the first five minutes. The reveal was perfectly executed.

It was OK

I got to the end but it was a bit of an effort. The story was good but i found the timeline a bit confusing and i didnt find the characters very likeable.
Karen Cass as always did a great job with the narration and kept me engaged during her parts but I felt the rest of the narration was flat having to up the speed to keep interested.
