Entertaining, Exceptional narration

This is the perfect example of a good book made insanely entertaining because of the narration.
Yes it is well plotted, well written, and whip quick clever.
But Kristen Atherton’s performance, her ability to emote, pause in the right places, become male/female, cut glass accented, east end accented, Serbian, and so on is truly out of this world.
Adele Parks has no doubt written a fun, suspenseful, clever book here and done so well.
But this performance takes the book to another level.
Definitely worth a credit.

Amazing narration and story

Kept me interested the entire time. Phenomenal character development and quite unique for a psychological suspense and I’ve listened to well over 100.

Different

It’s been a while since I read a book that I really enjoyed and felt was upbeat and entertaining. Not to say that anything is positive in this book, it’s pretty dark but the pace is Swift. And while the characters are complex they are not idiots and there is no childhood sexual trauma to revisit, hallelujah. It checks a lot of boxes for me. That being said, i don’t disagree with the criticisms I’ve read. I just enjoyed it BEYOND those

This is one of those books that keep you up until dawn listening. Would love to see this in film.

A good narrator makes all the difference when it comes to listening to audiobooks. I’ve listened to a few read by Kristin Atherton and was looking for others that she has narrated when I happened upon this title. I’d previously never heard of Adele Parks or her books. Now I can’t wait to read/listen everything else she has written. After listening to the sample of this book I was hooked. I was truly surprised to see
this doesn’t have a five star rating, which in my opinion it deserves.

The storyline is unique, not predictable. Which often seems to be the case these days….the same story rewritten with different characters. This is not that. It’s gripping and leaves you guessing until the end. The main characters are real, flawed, yet lovable and at times relatable. In some ways this reminded me a bit of a VC Andrews book, but written for adults as opposed to young adults. As soon as I finished listening I forwarded the Amazon link on to my mom, sister and several friends, that’s something I rarely, if ever, do. I couldn’t wait to share it.

I listened to the epilogue and will be anxiously awaiting/hoping for a sequel.
