Jud Low was 18 years old, from the East, and as green as could be when his father decided to pull up stakes and set them on the Oregon Trail. Not far from Abilene, Kansas, the two were put out of the wagon train after Jud’s father got into an argument with the wagon master. The father and son headed south.

Not long after, Jud found himself alone and on foot, his father having frozen to death during a cold winter night. He made his way south and stumbled onto a small cattle ranch, finding himself a job and a great friendship. When his new friend is murdered and robbed, Jud finds himself forced to become a man sooner than he’d expected to.

Really interesting story!

I learned a lot about cowboys and cattle and life on a farm. It was really entertaining, would recommend.

Scratches my itch for Westerns

I haven't spent a lot of time with Western books and audiobooks, but that's going to change after this. A great narrator takes you on a really fun ride. Great suspense and interesting throughout. This is a fun listen.

Hurdles of Life!

Maturity has no age limit, we agree with this statement and this book is a proof of it. This book is based on the protagonist's story named Jud who has lost his close family members in his early age and after it he faced the harsh stages of life. This is how he has achieved a great position in life.

I loved this reading as it is a great lesson for all of us about how a person struggles with time and how we fight for success. So, it is an inspirational book for especially youth to read.

Entertaining

This short book is full of action and entertaining. I listened to this on a flight while traveling, and the flight was over before I knew it! I highly recommend it.

It was entertaining to listen to Jud Low's story- his journey, his struggles and hardships, and how he overcame them. Inspirational and a good western story

Brilliant plot

This book was very captivating and interesting to read and listen to. I love the plot of the story the most as it was filled with unexpected twists, turns, and surprises. What happened to Jud's dad and friend was very unexpected to me.
The narrator also did a good job in narrating the whole thing as I really enjoyed the tone of his voice because it set the mood for the rest of the book.

Great Storyline!

I really enjoyed this listen! The storyline kept me interested the entire time. Jud's character is filled with an array of fascinating traits and emotions. Brooks Corley did a great job narrating this audiobook. I highly recommend giving this one a listen.
