One of the gnarliest books I’ve ever read

Seriously, it’s so dark and gross but full makes sense. It’s a grotesque splatter analysis of whether people are born the way they are… or if they can be made into a monster…

A BETTER LOVE STORY THAN TWILIGHT

Sick & depraved? Check.
Every trigger imaginable? Check.
Unredeemable characters? Check.
An amazing story that everyone should read/listen to? CHECK.

Such great Splatterpunk!

I love a good revenge tale. This goes so deep and hard into the ugliness and effects of bullying, it leaves me feeling so heavy hearted. Nelson goes hard on the violence, and there’s one kill in this book that will haunt me for quite a while! All the gross aside, he weaves one hell of a powerful tale. It really cut me deep.

And the narration was top notch. I love the narrator’s ability to deliver even the most outlandish and disgusting things in a way that sounds completely “business as usual”.

Whoa! This was quite a wild ride!

I was honestly heartbroken in the beginning and at the end. This story delivered a brutal, raw, and intense experience that truly represents what splatterpunk is all about. Rob created a gruesome novel that will stay in my mind rent-free for years to come. And if this book isn’t insane enough on the page, try listening to it. Chuck did an amazing job providing vivid visuals with his narration. I think my ears are bleeding now.

The story

This audiobook is intense in the best way.

The narration perfectly matches the brutality and madness of the story, making the horror feel immediate and immersive. This isn’t background listening you’re pulled straight into the gore, tension, and transformation. If you’re into extreme horror or splatterpunk, this is exactly the kind of audiobook that sticks with you.

Highly recommend listening with headphones… if you’re brave enough.
