MISERY LOVES COMPANY

Bruce and Liv Huxley have grown apart. Their marriage is at a crossroads. With their once exciting relationship now on life support, one of them is considering looking outside of it. But selfishness and the cold divide between them are far from their biggest problems.

Their 14-year-old son, Dustin, is a menace. From his bizarre infatuation with choking to his mental instability and aggressive behavior, the boy is dangerous and unpredictable. His parents spend almost every waking moment trying to stay a step ahead of his next outburst. His spiraling mental state only serves to assure Bruce and Liv they can’t fix their marriage until they first fix their son.

Can the Huxley family find a way to come together? Or will their dark secrets tear them apart?

At this point, I believe I have listened to or read every story Aron Beauregard has released. I usually categorize his work as sacrilegious and fun, but Homewreckers is different.

Beauregard’s greatest strength has always been his character writing, and Homewreckers is the epitome of that. The emotions I felt while listening ranged from heart-wrenching, to joy, to pure anxiety, all driven by how deeply realized the characters are. I have never been this invested in characters before. I truly believe this is Beauregard’s best work and I cannot recommend it enough.

Beauregard’s best yet

Aron knew what he was doing and didn’t hold back - a mix of dark magic, hauntings and basic human nature all for a dreadful time. Well done AB - and beautiful narration once again by Lila Kerry.

Intense ride

This hit hard. Real life horrors amplified by Aron Beauregard horrors. It gave me feelings in the same places as The Handyman Method, and that means a lot! Excellent narrator performance! Highly recommend!

Very upsetting, I loved it!

The story was insane and so good and the narration was perfection. I happen to really love when these two work together, Like they did on The Slob. No complaints with the narration, but that ending PMO. I'll only give a it pass if they is a sequel in the future. Considering how new the book is... I'm REALLY hoping for a sequel.

There better be a sequel to this, man....

I really enjoyed the turmoil each parent dealt with and how differently their minds worked in similar situations. I enjoyed the weird creepy kid running rampant and terrorizing them too. It’s a bit unrealistic but enjoyable nonetheless. I really hated the scene with Spud, but the second I realized he was a dog I knew I couldn’t get attached. The ending was as very illusive and I’m curious to see where it goes!
