Terrible narration

I could not finish this book. The narrators Australian accent was so awful that it made the book unlistenable.

Love Adrian McKinty!

Although I miss Sean Duffy from McKinty's Belfast Noir books, I like most everything McKinty writes. This book is no exception. It induced heart racing throughout, especially when the sounds of gunshots were incorporated into the narration! Welcome back, Mr. McKinty.

This was so good. First I read The Chain and was blown away and now The Island has me blown away. Great book!

I totally recommend this book it was very good. Very engaging.

As for the narration, Mela Lee did a great job. I will listen to her again.

Not the McKinty I love

Finished it but bored for most. Written to become an action movie. Prefer Sean Duffy series!

Surprisingly enjoyable!

So- never heard of this author and only purchased as it was a Daily Deal purchase. I found it very enjoyable. I have over 1k audible purchases to date and this it one of the “oddball” purchases that really made my commute!!! A good thriller. I will definitely be reading other books by this author.

Can a book be too suspenseful?

This is a well written and fast paced book that is pretty unpredictable. I love this author and want to love this book. The narrator is good. I found the sound effects a little distracting.
Can a book be too suspenseful and anxiety provoking. That’s how I feel about this book.
I guess what I am saying is some will probably live this book and others might just be too anxious for it.
Not quite as good as some of his other books but I would say a success none the lads.

Good storyline for sure

I really like this novel... not his best but definitely worth listening to. The narrator was a little too breathy for my taste.

Not a dull moment

This story is a true edge of your seat ride. I enjoyed it IMMENSELY. I seldom take the time to review but this book is SO worth the time. Read it. You won’t regret it!

It’s fine

I really enjoyed ‘The Chain’ and was excited for this. Sadly, this didn’t live up to its predecessor.
My main gripe is the third act. It just felt artificial and things happened just for convenience of the plot.
Not something I’d recommend.

Slow start, I almost returned it, glad I didn't.

I'm glad I decided to go ahead and give the book chance considering the start with pretty slow and the husband was basically to meet a jerk. However it turned out to be a really good book, it kept me waiting for more. I also liked that she was feminine and fearless at the same time.
