Was she running from something?

While trying to ID the body, she runs into Pine Brooke’s new doctor, Logan Elwood.
A man that may be hiding a clinic full of secrets behind his gruff demeanor.
Suddenly, the case takes on a more gruesome turn when multiple bodies of young girls turn up in odd circumstances.
One thing is for certain, the once idyllic pines are harboring murderous secrets.

Not a fan of the narrator. Had to look up the narrator because I thought it was AI Not just how she reads but instead of sounding like the characters telling the story it sounds like someone reading it. I’m getting the next book because I love AJ Rivers as a writer but really wish it was someone else narrating.

Love the story line and character development of this first book.

The narrator was grating. I made it through the first two books but I can't listen to the rest of them, the narration is that bad.

for a police story there is very little actual police work portrayed.

The job was so bad that I found it distracting. Just dreadful. I would have to make sure a different reader was used before trying another of her books.

I really like AJ Rivers as an author However, the books consistently have really bad narrators.
The editing could be better as far as grammar goes but honestly it probably wouldn’t be so noticeable if the narrator was better.

Poor narrator

The narration I think killed it for me. It sounded almost robotic. I just could not enjoy this book. It may have been a great book, but I just couldn’t feel it or get into it with the bland narration

Worst of AJ Rivers Books

who wrote this; A frustrated wannabe doctor?!! There were so much irrelevant storylines...blood pressure pandemic, saving a stroke victim, community health strategies, child custody fight and a little murder mystery peppered in. Then at the end you find out there are many, many dead girls and no-one suspected anything?! Many missing girlsI from adjacent small towns but no-one picked up on anything until one of the lastvictims's body is discovered?! And, the narrator was really, really bad. All, female voices sounded the screeching young girls (hurt my ears) and most often the narrator lacked inflection. I won't be continuing this series.

Stupid!

The narration of this book was grating. When the narrator changed her voice for the male roles, she almost sounded robotic. Her inflection was the same for all characters with little variation. I tried to like this book, but I just couldn’t get there.
