Loved the reading. The family was so real, the everyday and the magic of childhood are melded beautifully.

Our lives are a book.

Great story of a black girl growing up in New York. I have always believed there is a best seller about each of our lives. Sharon does a great job in telling her story.

Engaging for all ages

love this book. Found myself reliving her yo ui th and innocence . My 9 Y old latened with me and was very disappointed when the book ended.

We get to see inside the mind of a little girl, turned young woman, and then adult. It was flawless. Not only did Washington pen a great story, she performed one as well.

The innocence of youth and the pedestal we put our parents on, was coupled with the reality of adulthood and the realization that our parents are not perfect.

This was a seriously special listen. I only wished there was more.

I had no idea that live-in superintendents were a real thing until I researched a little bit-fascinating! This is a one-woman dramatic memoir that is both written and performed by Sharon Washington. The story is whimsical and (mostly) fun, but Sharon's performance is what I'll most remember here because it is absolutely fantastic.
