Stoffwechselprodukte, die nicht zur Ernährung des menschlichen Körpers benötigt werden, scheidet der Organismus aus. Dafür wird eine ausreichende Menge Flüssigkeit benötigt. Die Nieren, der Darm und auch die Haut sorgen für die Ausscheidung der Endprodukte aus dem Stoffwechsel.
Trotzdem ist die gelegentliche Darmreinigung zur Entschlackung des Darmes vor Operationen und Fastenkuren eine notwendige Prozedur. Mit der Darmreinigung wird erreicht, dass der Darm gründlich und gänzlich entleert und gereinigt wird. Dies geschieht bei einer normalen Entleerung nicht ganz vollständig.
Künstlich erzeugt wird gelegentlich eine Entleerung wegen Verstopfung, zur Vorbereitung einer OP oder Darmspiegelung. Fastenkuren beginnen ebenfalls mit einer eingeleiteten Entleerung zur Entschlackung des Darms.
Die Einleitung erfolgt durch Zäpfchen, Kräutermischungen oder Salze. Auch die alte Methode mit Irrigator und Wasser zum Einlauf ist dafür möglich, muss aber wegen der modernen Medikamente nicht unbedingt angewendet werden.
Der Bereich der Naturheilkunde nutzt die Darmreinigung seit Jahrhunderten als probates Mittel zur Verbesserung von Befindlichkeit und Gesundheit. Allerdings ist hier im Gegensatz zur schulmedizinischen Verwendung, eine tiefere Reinigung vorgesehen. Schulmedizinisch wird lediglich der Dickdarm erreicht und gereinigt. In der Naturheilkunde ist ein anderer Ansatz vorgesehen. Mit dem Dünndarm ist die Verdauungsstrecke im Körper um den wesentlich längeren Anteil das Verdauungssystems mitberücksichtigt.
Das sind 6 bis 7 Meter Darm, in denen sich die ganzen Rückstände ansammeln.
Je nachdem was notwendig ist, eine OP oder die Darmspiegelung, ist der Dickdarm das wichtigere Ende. Bei einer Darmreinigung zur Entschlackung kommen weitere Komponenten dazu. Hier geht es um gesundheitliche Belange, die ein allgemeines Wohlbefinden und Erleichterung zum Ziel haben. Durch den anatomischen Aufbau des Darmes bedingt, sind die vielen Falten und Zotten für die Zurückhaltung der Rückstände und Schlacken ideal geformt. Nicht alles wird mit einer natürlichen Darmentleerung hinausbefördert. Die Ernährung, die Behandlung mit Medikamenten beim Menschen und den Tieren, Umweltbelastungen und zu wenig Bewegung sowieso, führen zur Schlackenbildung.
