Dark Enemies-To-Lovers Russian Mafia Romance

Darkest Deeds by Cora Kenborn is a enemies-to-lovers Russian mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Sarah Puckett and Tor Thom. This is the first book in the Les Cavaliers de l'ombre series and can be read as a standalone.

I absolutely love Cora's books! I was hooked from the very beginning, and I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I loved the push and pull between Niko and Ava. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Scarlet Mark to be released on audio so I can get Killian "Dagger" and Amara "Scarlet" story.

Sarah and Tor did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like dark romances, mafia romances, enemies-to-lovers romance, or romantic suspense.

Mind-Blowing Romantic Suspense at its Best!

Cora Kenborn pens another mind-blowing novel, a dark mafia, an action packed, enemies to lovers romance novel. This story swept me in right from the start, grabbing my attention and captivating it the entire book. The character development and world building is phenomenal. Ava Chernova is the daughter of a Bratva boss, she should be the Bratva princess but she has fallen from her father’s grace and he makes her life a living hell. But she is strong and is determined to persevere. Forced to work in one of her father’s strip clubs lands her a life-changing opportunity, one that will probably get her killed and despite knowing this, she still goes with it, anyway. Niko Gaheris, a trained assassin for the Cavalieri Della Morte, gets his next hired hit, and not only does he know who she is, but he has a history with her, a good history that turned bad. Niko Gaheris gets his target, he does not kill her right away but keeps her captive instead. The chemistry between these two is electrically charged and you can feel it pour off the pages. This is a brilliantly plotted romantic suspense, there is plenty of drama, angst, mind-blowing twists and turns that keep you thinking and on your toes, heartfelt emotions and a hot & steamy romance. Cora Kenborn, thank you for another amazing story and the wild and thrilling emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Sarah Puckett and Tor Thom are the perfect cast to bring these characters and their story to life. They are exceptional at portraying these characters, performing each role while making it their own. They have a complete understanding of the roles they are playing, sound believable and just as I picture the character to sound. Sarah Puckett nailed it as Ava grasped her persona with perfection, brought out her strength and determination. Tor Thom’s Nikko was spot on, he played the perfect bad alpha. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance. These superbly talented narrators are versatile voice artists and entertaining storytellers. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

Great audiobook!

I've listened to many audiobooks by Cora Kenborn. This was another well written book with a great storyline and characters. There were so many secrets to learn. There was some back and forth between present and past. Not my favorite way to get a story, but it was well done. I was glad to be on the road so I could listen without interruptions. Loved the ending.

Tor Thom and Sarah Puckett are excellent narrators. Their performances were perfection. I love their voices. This book rolled like a movie in my head.

dark Mafia romance

A well written but perfectly performed mafia romance. Dual narration was spot on and made these characters and this entire read captivating and thrilling. Our main characters are Ava - a fallen bratva princess and Niko a fallen bratva soldier. Once destine for each other only to be betrayed and left hurt. I love the twists and turns this story takes - dark but tantalizingly so. As a reader you want so desperately for a HEA but how - there seems no way with all the betrayals along the way. Ava's strength in character and Niko's need for vengeance are compelling. Wonderful from start to finish!

Definite Mafia story

If you like mafia stories you will like this. It is dark, has many twists, plus a nice surprise for one of the main characters.

I enjoyed this book good story and characters my only complaint is the back in forth with the timeline i seem to have trouble getting into books like that, the narrators did a great job

The title says it all!

This is one dark and twisty story. There is some stuff in here that make me cringe and while I love darker stories….this one went into the deep end. It is full of twists, turns and I and some “Wow did that just happen moments”. I did enjoy it as it got my mind churning in the early morning. The characters are smart, devious and have met before. I liked their interaction with each other…I really never knew who would come out on top.

The narration is wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Sarah Puckett and Tor Thom help bring these characters to life.

Reams of history, writing style bringing vivid memories timeline of going back between the past and the present time. Deception and unexpected twists intricately entwined throughout the pages. The "Omnishambles" Ava and Niko.

Sarah Puckett, Tor Thom dual narration is cabochon performance. Sarah Puckett excels in her ability to bring the right sound and tone capturing characters soul. She is Ava with strong inflection and vulnerable undertones. Tor Thom brings out his quell tone of Niko. Love this narration dual.

Great book

I enjoyed this book. At first I was surprised how it all started. I didn’t really like her character but as I get into deeper, I can see why she is what she is. I started to like her and got invested into the book and enjoyed it. Sarah and Tor did an awesome job at narrating

This is the first book in Les Cavaliers de l'ombre [The Shadow Riders] series, a Dark Romance. Ava and Nico's story is complex and captivating. Ava, the daughter of a Russian mafia boss, is strong and feisty. Nico, a hitman, is dark, ruthless, and enigmatic. The back and forth, past to present, helps to understand their history. Their slow burn second chance to love is breathtakingly suspenseful. The storyline is intricate, and enthralling, filled with secrets, betrayal, action and unpredictable twists and turns. Some scenes are very intense. This story isn't for the faint of heart. The supporting characters are intriguing. The story has a great ending. I am looking forward for more in the series. Sarah Puckett and Tor Thom did an excellent job with the narration. I like Cora Kenborn's writing. If you like Dark Romance, this one is for you. #TheFlock
