Such a great little novella. DJ Krimmer knocks it out with this sweet and spicy Christmas novella. The grumpy/sunshine trope is utter perfection.

Both MCs are dealing with grief, guilt, and pain over loosing their brother/best friend in an accident six years ago that left the MMC with a prosthetic leg. It takes both of them working through it together so that they can end up happy together.

Love how Elise finds out she loves the dirty talk and can dish it out as well.

Joe Arden is always a top tier narrator. Amanda Willow does a fab job narrating the FMC.

The spice was spicing and so good.

This book is the shortest I've ever purchased and I was hesitant at first, but the story is SO GOOD. Something beautiful comes from a tragedy with such grief and pain. The characters are so well written and the narrators bring the entire thing to a whole new level.

Highly recommend and perfect for a breather from some of the dark romance/romantasy I typically read. Sometimes you need a little morsel of feel good in the darkness.

From the tiny summary and cover art, I was expecting a sweet, cozy, grumpy sunshine Xmas romcom. Yes, there were some excellent grumpy sunshine comedic moments and a few sweet moments.

But, the majority of this is about both MCs wallowing in guilt and pain over the circumstances of losing their brother/ best friend six years earlier.

Also, at the end, when the nooky happens, the two or three scenes are full on salty nutcracker with Elsie having just as dirty a mouth as him. It’s narrated to duet perfection, but whoo! Took me by surprise.

90% jaded, 7% jolly, 3% salty nutcracker
