First gay male book that I have listened to that wasn't purely sexual. This is a true love story. I enjoyed every moment of it.

What a great story...and the two narrators made it come alive! I can't wait to find more by these authors.

Great friends, better lovers

This story of 2 male friends, Jamie Canning and Wes Ryan, was very, very, very sexy and full of wit and smile-worthy moments between these two kindred spirits. These 2 very likeable characters were recently-graduated males headed to careers with major league hockey teams. They are also recently reunited after years of estrangement. Their reunion was easy and maturely handled, and started their journey towards being more than friends. Watching their romance develop was so much fun. They were so well-matched; how much they liked and respected each other was obvious. So movement towards sex was without much struggle and also handled honestly and with maturity and care, mainly. There was a bit of misreading each other, but it wasn't manufactured and not drawn out, thankfully. It was more out of fear about the new and somewhat expected direction their friendship had taken. And, for one of them, the new direction his sexuality had taken. So it all developed naturally and in expected ways. However, the reaction of Wes' team towards his homosexuality was a bit too easy; it was balanced somewhat by Wes and Jamie acting surprised too. The team was in Canada, so maybe the acceptance was more plausible. But Wes' teammates and coaches in the U.S., during college, were also accepting of his sexual orientation. But everything wasn't easy in the story, so it didn't lack realism, plausibility.
What made this book so good was the connection between Jamie & Wes, the wittiness, the hot sex (which wasn't overdone nor the majority of the story), and the easy, good writing. The authors' ability to write a common plot in a better way than many made them worthy of me buying more by them. Unfortunately, Audible doesn't offer any more stories by this joint writing team. But I hope that soon changes.
The 2 narrators made the story easier to follow along with the book's focus being split between Jamie & Wes and the focus being identified whenever it changed.

UNEXPECTED, INCREDIBLE LOVE STORY

What a great story!!! I was grinning from ear to ear as the story ended. This was the my first M/M romance purchase so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was hooked from the very beginning until the end. This was a very well-written, perfectly narrated, funny, heart-warming, and sexy listen. Hotness knows no gender in my book, and this was a hot one for sure, but more importantly a really incredible love story about finding and living your truth. If you're unsure or squeamish about same sex romance this isn't the book for you. All in all, I'd definitely purchase a book from one or both of these authors in the future.

A must listen!!!!

This book has all the feels! Sexy, hot, and so realistic w/ the emotions. The character development makes you feel like you want to be friends with these people and really pulls you into their story. This is a new all time favorite for me. Definitely worth the credit!

Yes Yes Yes

This was my first M/M listen and holy smokes I was NOT disappointed. Sarina and Elle wrote a great love story and the narrators were absolutely perfect...and oh man their voices H-O-T and the sex scenes off the charts! I loved the build up of Jamie finally getting there with Ryan - wow, absolutely fantastic. The story was amazing...so much so that I started US immediately upon finishing this one up! If you are on the fence about this genre, this is a great one to dip your toes in the waters with, you will not be disappointed!

Hot Damn!

This was just brilliant. The narration tipped it over the edge for me. I simply couldn't stop listening. There were so many laugh out loud moments that people must have thought I was insane, cackling away on a walk listening to this audio. Ryan is on his way to becoming a world famous Hockey player and he wants to spend one last summer with his best friend Jamie. The only problem with this scenario is that Ryan has always had a crush on his straight best friend and one night together as teens four years ago had him running for the hills.

Seeing Ryan again after no contact for years and not knowing what happened to end their friendship so abruptly causes Jamie to revaluate everything he thought he knew about himself. Their journey from best friends to more was beautiful to witness. It was narrated from both points of view and I felt everything they were going through. Jamie's sexual evolution was told with such raw feeling that at times I just wanted to hug him as he worked through his emotions.
Side note: How awesome is Jamie's family? I loved every minute and can't wait to listen to US to see where their story goes.
