This was a fantastic listen. I went for about an hour or so each day digesting the many suggestions in the book. Then I took about a handful of the things that I wasn't already doing and started applying them to my daily activities. While I am not walking on the moon yet, just happy to be making progress even if it is a little bit and not feeling like I am in the hamster wheel. This is something that I will probably try and re visit when I get stumped. There are some writing exercises that he suggests that have been tough to start..I thought it would be a piece of cake but I became afraid. Good thing he emphasizes is that it all doesn't have to be done at once and I can go on my own pace. That is golden because I am sick and tired of trying to live by other people's timeline. Great book and thanks for all the help !!!

An easy listen for my complicated brain

I would not have chosen this book if it hadn't been recommended by a friend, because (no offense, author) the title is cheesy. However, I am glad to have read this. Some of the information was not new to me, as my severe depression went away after I healed from the damage of not knowing I had Celiac's until I was 23, but even in the "bullet points" I was familiar with, there was information I had forgotten or had not heard before, so I didn't skip the section. The book was written with sympathy, but not in a gushing way that assumes you're pathetic or anything overboard like that. There is a lot of information, and the author does a good job of summarizing subjects based on his research and experience. The author not only provides a Sunday and information, but also "how to actually do it." I would like to avoid seeing a psychologist, let alone a psychiatrist, for my current problems and try to fix them on my own, and this book was helpful in that journey. Much appreciated.

I started reading a paper copy of this book and loved it so much, I wanted to have an audio version to listen on the way to work, on my lunch break, and any chance I could get. The narrator was quite good and I enjoyed the audio version just as much and was able to finish it in no time ! I'm a working mom of a toddler , so it can be really challenging to get some peace and quiet time to read anything, and Audible was a life saver. I truly believe this book can be life changing if you take steps and start doing it. I definitely recommend it!

the best self help book out there!
