Did not finish

Mispronunciation as early as chapter 2, I couldn’t continue knowing there would likely be more. There is no “Dessert” island in Maine. If there was, I’d be there eating all the pie. There is a Desert Island. Narration is not good, but I may give the physical book a try as I do like this author.

Love this Author!

Great novel and good suspense. Plenty of twists. The pace of this one sagged a bit in places, but I didn’t mind too much. McTiernan is one of my favorite new discoveries over the past year. I highly recommend all of her books including this one.

Absolutely brilliant!

This is the third novel I’ve read by this author. In my opinion, it is the best. The characters were real, genuine and complete people. Their motivations were crystal clear. Yet the plot was complex, with so many twists and turns, that there was not one moment I wasn’t engrossed in where we were going next. Truly, it was a joy and a pleasure to read. Bravo!

As for the narration, it was great. They all did a great job. No complaints.

An Enjoyable book

Well, I’m glad I didn’t listen to the terrible reviews. It was a good listen and kept my attention I do miss her Det RIley books tho.

Fast paced

Not a moment of slowness in this plot! Twists when yiu least expect it. Excellent read for mystery lovers.

Kept Me Guessing

The story and presentation kept me guessing. Usually I know "who done it" early on but not this time. Very entertaining.

Decent but author’s Scottish series is better.

The author is a favorite of mine so I scooped this up when it came out. I was hoping for a new installment in her series but settled for this. The premise is unusual and interesting but it felt like something was missing. The characters don’t have much depth and the ending felt flimsy and unrealistic.

Edgy, entertaining, unpredictable..

I didn't expect this story from Dervla McTiernan. Kudos! The story really had me enrapt in the lives of Hannah and Laura.

Was NOT expecting that ending!!

This book had me in one spot for like 2 days. I just couldn’t stop listening. Early in the book I thought I predicted the ending and should stop reading but I was W R O N G. I know some didn’t care for this book , which almost stopped me from reading. I’m so glad I took a chance. It was so worth it!
