All I can say is don’t give up on this book. I had all the icky feels with the religious aspect and wasn’t sure I could get through it. I’m glad I pushed my way forward because this author will blow your mind

Silas, Gideon and Lily all grow up in backwoods Tennessee in a religious, I would say cult, that has no place in society. Anyone who hides behind Man Made Religion, the Bible and their interpretation of said bible to tear down individuals for being female or gay is not a religious person.

I will say it was hard with the secrets that Silas had to keep from Gideon and Lily, their secrets, and it really kept them stunted in what their lives could have been. We finally get to the secrets being revealed but it was a rough road to that point.

Lily is a saint for bringing the two guys together and bringing the three of them and Adie together as a family or. Not conventional but no one should tell someone how to have their family unit. As long as no one is in danger Love is Love.

Silas and Gideon are amazing once they finally get their HEA. Lily is going places. Family unit growing. I would love to see more of them. Away from the nightmare of their sperm/egg donors.

There is a line in the story where Silas reams Gideon’s father in the hospital chapel and OMG. This author and what she wrote is so powerful. You’ll know when you get to it.

Jake Bordeaux is amazing at narrating.
Rebecca Rathe is incredible at storytelling. She’s an activist for human rights, LGBTQ+, BIPOC and Trans. She’s intelligent, funny and an amazing human being.

Hard Fought HEA

I'm not part of the LGBT community...well, I'm an Ally. But I grew up in a very very similar church. I always knew at the core of soul that the things they taught were not what I believed to be true. So to say this story resonated with me is an understatement. So Thank You for writing it!

Now for the story... it was fantastic!! The shear pain and love and acceptance and fear were almost tangible. Gideon and Silas have the most hard fought story I've read/listened to in a while. And it's not just them. Yes it's their love story but Lily is such an integral part (if not the core) of their family it's beautiful to see how they all grew together. And Adeline's relationship with her uncle is the sweetest!! It's gut wrenching at times. Its feet kicking goodness. It's put you back together in the best way possible. And as deep and loving and beautiful as the story is, it's spicy. 🌶️ Like, holy cow HOT!!!! 🥵 Dirty talking hockey players are my new favorite thing!

Lastly... is there an Oscar awarded for audiobook voice performances? If not, there should be. JUST so Jake can win it. He puts so much feeling and emotion and heat into his performance that it's mind blowing. He's not a narrator, he's an actor and performer. Chefs Kiss 😚

So if you like great love stories, some action, angst, panty melting sex scenes and hockey players... this is all for you.

The Forbidden Goals series by Rebecca Rathe is one of the highlights of my library. With Wrap Around, another masterpiece has been added!

Silas and Gideon's story is full of pain and hope. Growing up in a religious cult, they both experience humiliation and violence. Despite this, they manage to live out their blossoming feelings for each other in a beautiful moment. Shortly afterwards, they are torn apart by a misunderstanding.

I love Wrap Around and devoured the story with spellbinding fascination. It is very exciting and emotional. Despite the darkness, there is a lot of light! With Addy and Lily, there is so much love flowing through this sometimes very sad story.

Jake Bordeaux gave them both a voice. When his voice broke at a particularly emotional moment, I was glad I was home. His performance reduced me to a heap of misery, and I burst into tears.
Highly recommended! Take note of the TWs!

Gideon and Silas. How do I put into words my thoughts about these two. They have been THROUGH IT. They each have secrets and have history that caused them pain. Fast forward to now where they are on the same hockey team and OH BOY does SH*T hit the fan. Now Silas is married to Gideons sister and gets to watch her live the life he once thought would be his. Don’t fret! These two are now on the same hockey team so let’s talk about the forced proximity. With these two you can cut the tension with a KNIFE! Gideon hates Silas so much. Like HATES him. These two are drawn to each other though. They are end game and meant to be together. They fight hard and love harder. And when they are finally happy it’s all worth it.

Ohhhhh and I got a chance to check out the audio and I will never get tired of Jake’s voice in my ears. He has such a way to bring the spice and the love.

Check this one out. It’s a good one!

This is a beautiful story that is born in the depths of darkness. The depth of this story and the emotional walk these characters was an experience. I love how Rebecca Rathe did not shy away from the details for the good and for the bad. There is an important message not so buried in these words.
I love that Silas and Gideon not only found their way through what they had endured but they fought to get their happiness. The way they see something bigger out there gives me so much hope for something better.
