Hauntingly Beautiful

So I have a thing for fated mates, without liking the fantasy trope of fated mates. I know, it makes no sense. BUT THIS! It almost reminds me of one of my favourite books, In this and Every Life by Emmy Sanders. The story is not remotely the same, like comparing it is almost incomprehensible….but it pulled on those same heart strings, those strings that feel like they are attached to my soul and it recognises that soul mates are more than just a myth, more than a fictional concept to add meaning to a tale and it’s more than a false promise of belonging. Thank you Jesse H Reign for writing this book, I truly appreciate it. Oh and if it wasn’t obvious, I highly recommend it!

Everything I didn't know I needed.

Lennon and Carter were everything. I was a little concerned with Lennon at first but who doesn't love some light stalking? Especially once you understand the reasoning. Great story and great narration.

I kid you not when I say, not one time did I hit that pause button or stop reading along with my kindle. This story was all-consuming and I loved every minute of it!!

My Heart

You know what's going to happen but the story and narration hold on to you so tight you almost forget. I fell in love with them and my heart broke with them, and this is the first book I've ever felt all my pieces being glued back together.

If I could give this a million stars, I would!

I suspected I knew what was coming. From the very beginning, there’s this deep, aching sadness that clings to Lennon, the word that kept echoing in my head was forlorn. It just radiates off him. Pair that with Connor being a literal sunshine human and my brain started putting the pieces together early.

And yet… knowing didn’t lessen the impact one bit.

Connor is, without question, the biggest green flag in existence. Patient, kind, steady, and loving in a way that feels both gentle and unwavering. Lennon is our broken boy, the kind you can’t help but root for, ache for, and want the world to be softer with.

This story somehow manages to be heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. Even when you think you know where it’s headed, the emotional payoff still sneaks up on you and absolutely wrecks you…in the best way.

Lennon’s journey toward healing and love felt earned, tender, and deeply satisfying. His happily ever after hit hard and will stay with me for a long time.
