An amazing concept for a new to me author. I was really into the premise of the story from the intro blurb telling me about the book. It started out with all of the perfect elements of a bully romance with super hot in between scenes. All of that was true and kept to my attention throughout the book. This new to me author: MT Addams hooked my attention from page one and I didn’t wanna put it down. So much so, that I went ahead and downloaded the audiobook so I can listen while I drove. This, unfortunately, was where the mistake lies.
I’ve never listened to Zair Jordan narrate before so I don’t know if this is her norm but it honestly sounded a frumpy OLDER lady who would fit right in with my deaconesses (lord forgive me!) from my moms church when I visit. She didn’t sound like someone 3 gorgeous alpha men would go after, she sounded like she should be reading her grandbabies bedtime stories. The supposed “spïcy scenes” were cringy worthy coming from her. Just not my cup of tea at all. Not saying she is a bad narrator, just that this genre is NOT for her. More suited to children’s books I’d think. That was rough! Honestly took me out of the story and erased ALL the hot chemistry I felt between the characters while I was physically reading the story. I’m not going to listen at all to the 2 book, requesting a refund rn actually as I want to get back into the story.
Anyway, back TO the story which, by itself? Would have been pretty darned amazing! I was hooked from page one which I LOVE in a book! I couldn’t put it down. The dynamics between all the characters were on point. You could feel the unity of the sister & brother hoods and I always get behind this trope. It makes it so any future book has a wide range of where the story can go next. This is a special talent not all authors have so was happy to see MT does!
You can read about the story in the blurb but if ONLY reading, it’s a hot, super spïcy AF read. It keeps the momentum going throughout and I’m curious to see where book 2 leads.
All in all, a decent introduction to a new to me author, I’m hoping book 2 redeems it for me!

the story has huge potential to be a hit on audio. I just had a really hard time getting into it without a male voice, considering there are 3 men.

I was really excited to read this but the audio honestly ruined it. The voices are so bad and I realized it’s because it’s a female and the weird accents on the characters?

I was unsure how I would feel about this book when I first started, but I am glad I stuck with it! Now I’m ready to start the second book!
