David Saperstein is the author of 17 novels, 32 scripts - features and TV including the story for COCOON, the two-time Academy Award-winning film. He is also the writer, director and producer of documentaries, feature films, TV series, TV specials, music videos and television commercials. He taught screenwriting, directing and collaboration at New York University Tisch Graduate Film School and has written the lyrics for more than 80 published songs and the librettos for four musicals - Blue Planet, Blue, Clowntown, Cocoon: The Musical, and Calling All Divas.
David has had six novels published in the past two years - COCOON, a New York Times Bestseller, METAMORPHOSIS: THE COCOON STORY CONTINUES and BUTTERFLY: TOMORROW'S CHILDREN, books II and III of his Cocoon Trilogy, from Skyhorse Publishing; The first two books of his Evil on Earth tetralogy, RED DEVIL: THE BOOK OF SATAN and GREEN DEVIL: THE BOOK OF BELIAL, from Red Sky Presents; and SNATCHED, from Simon & Schuster. Other novels include Fatal Reunion, A Christmas Gift, A Christmas Passage and A Christmas Visitor. His novel, Dark Again, in 1998, was the first full novel available via the Internet.
David is a graduate of the Bronx High School of Science and was inducted into their Hall of Fame, and City College of New York (CCNY) Film Institute. He served two active duty tours in the U.S. Army.
