Entitled is the first joint biography of Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson by renowned royal biographer and literary agent, Andrew Lownie.

Packed full of extraordinary revelations, Entitled reveals the extent to which Andrew and Fergie’s lives are still deeply entwined. Drawing on four years of research, numerous FOI requests, and interviews with over a hundred people who have never spoken before, Andrew Lownie traces the lives of the late Queen’s second son and his ex-wife through their childhoods, courtship, marriage, divorce, careers, and royal and charitable activities.

Investigating the reality of their relationship, it assesses Andrew’s Falklands record, his business dealings, and reveals new details of how the couple have been able to financially sustain their extravagant lifestyles. It also delves deeper into links with Jeffrey Epstein, which began earlier, continued longer, and were much more frequent than reported.

Well researched and logically organized. The author was fair-minded and included positive feedback on the couple. At no point did I get bored. I marveled at the energy and methods the Yorks had/have to exploit their position in a sordid snd seedy manner. The tale behind the tale is that the monarchy has an expiration date. The author gets an A+ as a seamless and modulated narrator.

Relentless

Enjoying the book; that said authors sometimes do themselves a disservice in reading aloud their own work.

I heard William Styron read a gripping section from Sophie’s Choice in the 80’s. Memorably bad. (And I do know that he suffered from mental health issues so if that affected his affect I’m grateful to him for showing up!)

Just suggesting that a voice actor might have been able to bring the prose to life a bit more.

Author as reader

This would be a much better listen had there been a real narrator as opposed to the author reading himself. It’s hard to pay attention. Sounds like he’s reading a newspaper out loud. This author has read his own material before, terrible idea. Author/ publisher should spend the money next time for an actor, it would be money well spent. Better to read than listen.

Drab and bland narration but sheds light on how they became they’re own worst enemy

I can’t believe anyone is allowed to feel so far above the masses! Truly unbelievable!

Unbelievable

As an American, I admit I don’t understand the concept of monarchy. Lownie lays out a devastating story of two selfish spendthrifts who are truly awful people. His research is thorough and the narration is good, but toward the end it just becomes a list of bad choices over and over. His review of their childhoods does shed light on why they turned out the way they did, but doesn’t explain their lack of character, greediness, petty meanness, corruption and yes, their sense of entitlement.

Entitled and useless royals
