Absolutely fantastic...with one major caveat

The story itself is amazing, as always, and the voice actors are all very talented. However, there's an issue with the audio, especially with the first couple of chapters. The narrator speaks at a normal volume, but anyone else in the scene sounds like they're far away even when they shouldn't. Sometimes I can barely hear what's being said, which would be immensely frustrating if I wasn't already familiar with the story. Please adjust the volume of the other voice actors to match that of the narrator.

Jim Dale is still the Goat however.

I loved. its way better then Stephen Fry. but not better then the goat Jim Dale who im saying this now needs to play the voice of the sort in hat in the tv series.

okay pros and cons Pro the cast is some what amazing the kids are perfect they are getting into it more then the adults. I loved the sound effects that are added i love the pace of the book. however here are the cons
some dialog is rushed thew or not said at all.

other lines are so muffled you can't hear the actor say anything. also yes loved the sound effects but they are also a con its too loud in parts which is why the actor sounds muffled. it can sound like a tv ad at times when the sound effects are on they are much louder then the actor which takes you out of the moment.

that said I loved it so much as I said its better then Stephen fry but not as great as the Goat Jim Dale. overall I enjoyed it. if they fix those cons it might be perfect. your never gonna to be the goat Jim Dale.

make Jim Dale the sorting hat for the tv series as long as you don't make tom riddle a women I will definitely watch the HBO series. so far im love in it cast in.

Jim Dale for a voice role in the tv series would be the dream.

A Dream Come True

Ever since I found out about these full cast editions I've been counting the days. My expectations have been shattered in amazement. Hagrid's actors sounds just like Robbie Coltrane. I cannot say enough, this is worth every penny and second of listening pleasure. EXTREMELY RECOMMENDED!

Hardcore Potter-head & Jim Dale fan

So, no one tops Jim Dale. This is a fascinating rendition, but after absolutely loving Jim's version, this falls a little flat. I also think this is "Harry Potter & the Philospher's Stone," the version that is heavier on the British vernacular. Lots of small, subtle language changes compared to the original audio book. For a first time reader, this will be a great launch into the Potter world. It's a little busy and I think they went slightly over the top with the sound effects. As someone who has done audio editing and knows its a pain, I respect it!

To the reader/prospective reader. Give this a try for sure. It's extremely immersive and there's a certain attention you need to pay toward it to get the full effect. Headphones over the ear/higher volume are recommended. There's a lot of "distant" audio or secondary audio that gets drowned out if you don't have the volume up. Might be better experienced while closing your eyes and meditating? It's a good audio piece to get lost in.

This was amazingly well done and I couldn't have asked for better. Thank you to everyone who put this together for us.

A masterpiece

Truly stunning. The first chapter almost brought me to tears- Just an incredibly done masterpiece. I have never heard anything like it.
