Bethany Rosa crafted a well plotted story. I found her writing to be engaging and the storyline captivating with the right level of tension. I really appreciated her attention to details. The spicy scenes were hot, and Lily's first time was mind-meltingly steamy. I enjoyed the fact that the aftercare was given just as much detail, highlighting the importance.

Our main man Sebastian was just the right combination of grumpy playboy and swoony "she-is-mine" energy. It was pretty laughable to see his character become completely confused as to why he was so into Lily. Who doesn't love a reformed playboy? Aiden Snow voiced Sebastian with that perfect grump rumble. Lily is young, but independent. Her virginity is a key point of the story-line, and Bethany wrote Lily's inner thoughts with an excellent balance of vulnerability and honesty that was refreshing. Lily's best friend/roommate Cici gave her character the opportunity to voice some of those inner thoughts, and Ava Erickson's performance as Cici was powerful without taking over the scenes. Obviously, this book is a love triangle, so enter Cici's brother, and Lily's childhood crush, Jackson. Overall not a bad guy, but not realizing Lily was a treasure until Sebastian liked her is that man's biggest downfall. Aaron Shedlock's performance as Jackson gave him an earnest vibe that only Aaron can pull off. We round out our cast of narrators with Michael Gallagher adding the right amount of smooth tone to his performance.

This story kinda surprised me. Truth be told, I’m not that into love-triangle stories. I honestly just haven’t had that many great experiences with them, so I tend to stay away from them. I’m really glad I didn’t skip this one for a couple of reasons. Now that I’ve had the chance to binge thru to the fourth book, I can say that if I’d have skipped it, I would have lost a lot on the inner-connectivity all the stories have with each other. And also, this really didn’t come across as the typical love-triangles I have read in the past. That aspect of the storyline wasn’t overly done or overly played, if that makes sense. It happened and yes, it is part of the story, but it actually enhanced the tension and burn between the main characters. Honestly, you gotta experience it yourself to fully understand my point!

For this being technically Bethany Rosa’s debut novel, I give her mad props. Overall, it was really well done. The mystery/suspense unfolded well. The tension of not just the story but between our main characters sparked and sizzled at all times, which is one of the reasons I found myself listening way longer than I should have in one sitting! It started out a little wonky but soon the story took off and had me by the throat! And don’t get me started on that prologue! I mean … whaaaaaat is even happening?! Speaking of prologues, that was a really well placed “scene”, which again, the author deserves mad props for placement. The story wasn’t “perfect” for me, and I did raise my eyebrow at quite a few “moments” but as a whole, I found the story had a whole lot of vibes that I enjoy.

🎧Listening to the audio of this story leveled up my thrill for it all. Not only did the author put together a fantastic team of narrators, but it was performed in duet with multi-casting for the secondary characters. That is the ultimate sweet-spot for me when it comes to audiobooks! 🎤Aiden Snow & 🎤Vanessa Edwin performed Sebastian & Lily, the main characters, with 🎤Michael Gallagher, 🎤Ava Erickson & 🎤Aaron Shedlock rounding off the team as secondary characters. Every single one of them fit their roles perfectly! Aiden’s deep and rich voice fit perfectly with Sebastian’s character and Vanessa’s soft and light tone fit Lily like a globe! ✨Sidenote: The casting in the stories that follow this story stay true to the casting of this story and I cannot tell you how excitedly giddy I got when I realized that would be the case!

The supporting cast makes this feel like a cinematic experience:
Ava Erickson (Cici), Michael Gallagher (Eli), and Aaron Shedlock (Jackson) enhance every tense, emotional, and funny beat.

The tension between Lily and Sebastian is addictive, and the narrators bring their battle of wills to life in the best way.

This story starts off with a tense and mysterious prologue leaving LOTS of questions to be answered. Lily finds herself in a love triangle with a man she’s always had a crush on, Jackson, and a new billionaire, Sebastian, who sweeps her off her feet. When Lily and Sebastian start working together, they can’t deny their attraction. Sebastian, a true alpha who has a bit of Dom in him, finds himself obsessed with her and her innocence, and basically, she has barely any sexual experience at all. Sebastian is demanding in the bedroom and begins to introduce her to kinkier play. One of my favorite lines… “It’s not gonna take itself out, sweetheart.” Lily’s naive but willing. And it’s some of the steamiest I’ve read. Despite Sebastian’s mega alpha nature, Lily does hold her own which I was happy to see. However, her naivete did come through with how she handled the love triangle aspect, to be expected given her younger age.

This audio book has a multicast narration which really adds depth to the story. Aiden Snow and Vanessa Edwin play the main characters, Lily and Sebastian. With Michael Gallagher, Ava Erikson and Aaron Shedlock rounding out the cast as close friends, colleagues and other possible love interests this audio really captured the story.
Aidan is the perfect billionaire playboy with that rich deep voice of his. He does the controlling alpha really well. Vanessa’s more delicate voice really portrayed Lily’s more youthful character, and she also balanced that with a strength that Lily’s had

This love story is packed with a dirty-talking male lead, love triangle angst, teach me vibes, a possessive alpha and a dash of BDSM. I really enjoyed it and the audio made it all the better. Can’t wait for the rest of the series.

Left me shifting and ready to get home to relieve my own “discomfort”. Just when you think it couldn’t get spicier and any hotter it does. I’m not even into some of the same kinks but damn if it didn’t leave me as excited as Lily was. Bethany knows to write a HOT sex scene!! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🥵
