Publisher's summary

A filthy proposition. Too much money to say no. One dirty night in a stranger's bed.

While my husband watches.

It should've been a dream. A new life on the coast, running a beautiful country hotel with my husband. It should have been everything I'd ever wanted. Worth every scrap of investment. A hotel business we'd sunken every single penny we owned into, only to find out there was a big chain rival opening just a stone's throw away.

Slowly, day by day, the dream became a nightmare. Bills. So many bills. Sleepless nights, tossing and turning. No way out in sight.

Until there was him. The man at the bar. The man with a proposition we should never have considered in a thousand years . . .

Me. Him. One long night where I'm subject to his every fantasy. While my husband watches.

Contains mature themes.

Brett and Grace

Brett and Grace; Thomas and Grace; Brett, Grace, and Thomas; Thomas and Polly

*****SPOILER ALERT*****

'One Too Many' by Jade West. Audiobook review; KU borrow. Dual narration. Standalone. Three POV. Narrated by Dan Calley and Ashford MacNab. Both narrators did a great job. Both narrators skipped lines in the ebook. Content warnings: @n@l; indecent proposal; toys; h@ndcuffs; guided intimacy; m@sturb@tion; DP; family secrets revealed.

Location: UK

Brett Foster (32; school bully) and Grace Anne Foster (30; maiden name Whitley) just celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary. They're struggling hotel owners. Thomas Heath (29; aka Tom Browning) is a guest of their hotel, and after overhearing their financial struggles, he offers an indecent proposal: £50,000 for nine hours with Grace... Family secrets come to light about a month after their night together. By the final page, Brett and Grace's marriage is stronger than ever, their hotel is thriving, and Thomas plans to marry Polly Piper.

I enjoyed 75% of the story, but Thomas's cruelty to Grace was confusing and unwarranted. He should've left her out of his plot for revenge, but realistically, she would've been a casualty either way. In the end, I feel sad after reading this story. I don't know how I wanted it to play out, but I'm glad that Brett and Grace stayed together and Thomas didn't break them. JP

5 out of 5 on my spice scale.

One Too Many...things wrong with it.

I DID like this book. I know my headline might elude to the opposite but I did enjoy this read. I just wish there were not that many little issues that compromised the rating because it was a great book. The male narrator was great and it he did an amazing job. So did the female she read wonderfully but her voice was not at all the right voice for this, it was too old for Grace at just 30. This book had great potential and started out pretty strong but it didn't wrap up smoothly. Still, a great read, especially if it's on sale or free.

SPOILER ALERT- I guessed pretty early on that they were brothers and I wish they were connected in any other way! I think the brother's angle takes away from the story. I try to not write spoilers in my reviews, but this is the one thing, out of the many issues I had, that I wish the author had done differently. I do wish the ending didn't seem rushed or unthought out but that happens a lot and is something I can let go of but the brother plot twist takes away from the overall concept. Also, What the hell is the point of Polly? Polly never gets resolved, there is never any hint as to why she is who/what she is. She is just a connector that in the end (plot twist) doesn't even need to be there.

First class erotica from Jade West

It's entertaining and not particularly deep. If you're looking for more profound erotica, you can find that (Story of O, Carrie's Story, Acts of Service). This is mid-level stuff, with some interesting characters and some truly hot moments. No mm material (thank you for that). The female narrator is much better than the male narrator and one wishes that she had done the whole thing. However, I wish that she had learned the pronunciation of "expletive." Drives me nuts when narrators mispronounce words.

Definitely worth a credit.

Don’t dismiss the title

The title says it all. But I didn’t really consider it to my detriment. It wasn’t the story I was hoping for. But that’s my fault. The story itself, while low-key cliche and fairly unbelievable or perhaps melodramatic, nonetheless is well-written. However, there is an overtone of sadness that I don’t look forward to personally. And the tone is more marriage struggles/successes and less sexual discovery/awakening. Speaking of awakening, this is most definitely MFM - meaning there is no male-on-male action/attraction - as opposed to MMF, which implies a sexual or romantic action/attraction between the 2 males in the triad.
The narration switches by chapter, not by character speaking, which is disappointing by more recent productions. The tones were pleasant enough. While both are talented, I found it slightly…well…boring. However, I did finish it despite my flaky nature, so that says something.
I’m still a huge Jade West fan, but this one is a pass for me overall.
