So much trauma. In these books parents don’t treat their kids like they’re worth anything. They are just horrible. In this the second book in the duet the reader finds out the details of what happened when they were kids. This story as a whole was so good. I read/listened to it and the narrators were so, so good. There was not good communication with the 3 main characters. They were at each other’s throats a lot, especially towards the end. This book was well-written, witty and the banter was pretty good. I was hoping they would succeed as a threesome. This story started out heartbreaking and heart wrenching and ended heartwarming. I found myself brought to tears more than once. In real life they probably wouldn’t have gotten away with so much. There was significant growth of the characters in this book, and because of this it made me happy to see where their lives were ending up. I loved this duet and would definitely recommend it.

The narrators killed it! This book is dark and full or emotions and the narrators were able to capture them perfectly! Literal chills at so many parts! This audio brought the duet to life and I loved every second

What a journey! ‌Better Hide by Alina May was just as amazing as Better Run! It was fun to jump back in to Jayden, Cole, and Jo’s world again. Their continued growth both as individuals and romantically brought about satisfaction and closure. This book picks right up where Better Run ended and provides much-desired answers as to what happens next. Though Better Run was intended to only be a standalone, I loved that Alina gave readers the gift of how they find their happily ever after, and even more thrilled that it was put into audio form to bring these characters to life.

Expect more of Jo being fiery as heck, Jayden and Cole trying to learn how to keep Jo from running, unparalleled levels of possession, and unhinged spicy scenes! The duet narration is just absolute perfection! I cannot recommend this dark romance duet enough!

This is a duet and Better Run must be read first.

I wasn’t sure about the second book but two minutes in I was hooked!
I didn’t find the first book very dark but it sure gets dark here. I love how they continue (and end) the story. For a long while I couldn’t see a HEA happening but it’s well written and keeps you on the edge.
Absolutely loved the extra scene at the end.
Worth a credit? Yes. Very much so.
Of course, this IS dark. Make sure you know what you’re getting in to but it all ends beautifully.
