If you take out the sci-fi aspects, this could be an old Western story. The bad guys are critters, the female is looking for something better, and the male has old war stories that he doesn’t wanna share. It’s a sweet romance story. I read alien romances quite a bit and one thing that often irritates me is that there’s just a little bit of story and a whole lot of sex. Even a good thing can get to be too much. This is just the opposite with a lot of story and some good sex. I loved the narrators. I noticed another reviewer did not like them at all, so I guess that’s just a matter of preference.

I was.expecting a shifter book but it was an earth-alien mate book. It had such a great story line and not just sex that could only love it! I can't wait for the next book in the series!

interesting story with well developed characters. good story, I like that it's not just a mail order bride but there was the family drama and the monsters and other stuff going on. HEA and the five year time jump was a nice touch. narrators were good even with doing a British accent.

I read all the time, and always within this genre. Unfortunately, most of the books in this genre are just okay. This one has characters that are so real. The female lead could be your neighbor. The male is so kind hearted and gorgeous. The kids were so cute. The story was heartwarming. Loved the world building too! Great book!

I really enjoyed listening to this book. Nancy Cummings did a great job with the works building and the characters. Kali and Merit have chemistry and substance. Kali wants a real relationship she’s wants children and a husband to be her partner and her love. Merit need someone to heal his soul and help take care of his niece and nephew he doesn’t bargain in finding his perfect mate. The narrators do an excellent job bringing the story to life. I enjoyed it immensely! Highly recommend ♥️♥️♥️♥️🔥🔥🔥🥰🥰🥰
