Publisher's summary

In the far reaches of space, you have to keep your guard up to survive. But this gorgeous alien warrior is breaking down my defenses.

Three years ago, alien raiders abducted me from Earth.

I escaped to a remote trading planet, where I’ve scraped by and kept my identity as a human hidden...until one day, I get caught stealing from a mysterious warrior named Rok.

Aliens are dangerous and untrustworthy. Or at least, that’s what I’ve always thought. But Rok is different. Despite being furious that I took something from him, he doesn’t hurt me.

Instead, he offers to help me.

I’m not sure I should trust him - or if I can trust myself around him. Because every time I look into his gold-rimmed eyes, the ice around my heart melts a little. His touch sends licks of fire over my skin, and he gazes at me with such possessive heat that I feel like I’ll combust.

But I know better than to put my faith in an alien. And I certainly know better than to fall in love with one.

Right?

Captured by the Alien Warrior is a full-length stand-alone sci-fi romance featuring a powerful alien warrior with a damaged heart and a fierce heroine who finds out what it means to be claimed by her fated mate.

If you like sexy aliens, sweeping adventure, and steamy romance, you’ll love this series. No cheating, no cliffhanger, and a happily ever after guaranteed!

Note: each book in the series can be listened to as a stand-alone, but for maximum enjoyment, it’s recommended that the series be listened to in order.

voice actors made it better

The story is solid and I enjoyed it. It was not much different from others in the genre. The voice actors on the audio made it better, especially the male voice actor. He has an amazing voice that matches the character well. The female voice actor also did a great job.

Good start but pretty simple

I was excited to finally get Rok's story (His original introduction being Book 6 of the Kalixian Warriors series) and this didn't disappoint, I just wanted more!

I think Presley Hall was intentionally holding back and more about their current space life and uniqueness will be revealed slowly as she builds up their side of the universe. I was just hoping for a bit more content from this first book to kick it off.

Also, I'm really disappointed that this series didn't go for duet narration. It has become a favorite style of mine and I do think it would've made this new series stand out more. I also hate the book cover art - like change it up, give them different colors, something more than a man with self tanner on and a photoshopped tribal tattoo LOL

Personal preferences aside, this is a good story with great sexy times so I definitely recommend giving it a listen.

Spicy and Intriguing

I don’t leave reviews often truthfully, this got me through a drive from AZ - Texas I was never bored with it! The characters start off rough around the edges definitely a mild enemy to lovers thing. I will admit (no spoiler) there was one interaction between the two love interests near the end that frustrated me to no end after listening to them go through a lot together etc to have one character react a negative way to something made me feel like the character development fell off right there…. BUT I got over that and I think performance is 11/10 spicy lvl is hot hot but still has a good storyline in my opinion I expected a different resolution than the one we got butttt still worth giving it a try friends!

story wasn't bad!

I'm really not a fan of the narrators though.... There were points where I just felt uncomfortable with how they portrayed the main characters

Same ole same ole

Same story line. Nothing different. Predictable . Too much at the same type of sex as all the other stories

Pretty Good

This book didn’t contain a lot of gory graphic violence; the characters were very likable, and sex was hot. Narrators did a good job with characters.

Great reading

The narrators are fantastic and the book movies so well. I love how the story flows and it doesn’t move to quickly. Fantastic!

No damsel in distress!

This was a bit different from your typical alien romance. I appreciate that the FL was a strong character. She wasn't thriving before she met the ML, but she was surviving. The story was decent, but I honestly would have preferred a little more build-up. FL spends years without meaningful social connections to anyone, and she still opens up to ML pretty quickly. A bit more delay would have felt more natural for such guarded characters, and the tension could have been spicy.
The voice actors were both good overall. I wish it was duet narration but that is pretty rare.

Meh

So far my least favorite of Hall's work, and I might give up on this series. I will try a different one though, I still enjoy her books! This one felt rushed, especially when we fast forward through the first 3 days of Rok and Tara getting to know each other.

3.5 Stars, Good characterizations

Closer to a 3.5 and the narrators were fantastic. Would recommend it.

I got this on sale and don't regret reading it. I loved the main characters. They're both distrustful as they live on a pretty shady planet and slowly learn to trust each other. There was plot and action, as well as a believable romance and a cute couple. It wasn't hard to root for them.

I wish there had been more woldbuilding. He doesn't feel all that alien. He has a good backstory but could just as easily be a human colonist on a different plant rather than an alien. It doesn't have much in the way of cultural differences, which is my favorite part of alien romance.
