One of my faves

I read these books last year and loved the audio version just as much. I wish all the books had dual pov but Jillian Macie has a greet voice and so listening to her for 8 hours isnt a hardship. Super talented!

Nice Flow

I enjoyed the flow of the book and it’s characters from book to book. I love it when the writer links/intertwines the characters within the following books. This felt like a true continuation of the story line and I didn’t have to think too hard on who was on the other book and how they are introduced in the current book. Plus, it wasn’t a huge repetitive thing when they did have to link the character and scenes from previous books to current books so you know where the narrative fits in at a certain point in time. The book just flowed. Unfortunately, for me I do so enjoy reading box set collections so I can listen and drive and don’t have to worry about switching books every other day, but the next book book is only five…. The rest come as singles and not in the box set as 1-4.😔🥺. Honestly. That’s my only disappointment. They book was enjoyable o my drive to and from work.

Hold on… there is one bad thing about this book. I think it’s in the first two books… the person reading the story sounds like a creepy old lady. If u can get past that then ur golden.

Also one of the readers sound like Prim from the movie Transformers!!!!🤣😂

Phenomenal Stories!!

I have read all of Anna Carven’s novels and she is a fantastic storyteller. Both narrators are great, and I especially loved Todd McLaren’s voice- perfect for Tarak.
Having the audiobooks to listen to are a great compliment to the paperbacks- perfect to listen to while working out or traveling. 100% recommend!

have read the books, now listening is my re-read

Narrator was excellent. found that in my re-read I don't skip over parts that I would when reading. so there are parts of the story I had forgotten.

Good popcorn read

Fair warning I do like the books. As long as I don’t listen to them back to back. It IS worth the credit and the listening. However, I’ve been binging this genre for the last month and have had it with irritating FMC. I realize they’re quick fun reads. I realize that nothing is supposed to be overly serious. But, for example, in the first two books the girls are so self centric that I want to bang my head on a table. It’s not like the concept of aliens or space is new. Humans don’t have all that much technology. They can’t just POOF back to earth, particularly not at the expense of an entire devision’s resources and certainly not when they’re on a mission eradicating something galaxy threatening. With the reporter… she is also super entitled. And justified and not, in my opinion, as smart as she thinks she is or understanding. She doesn’t see any sort of ramifications of slanted suppositions. The aliens have some internal dialogue where they are talking themselves through things like oh hey I don’t know if this is language or culturally what something means. The FMCs just take the opportunity to be offended about just about everything and impose their own morals to aliens. They’re always assuming they’re entitled to information and trust when there’s very little reason for the MMCs to trust them and they’re not exactly being forthcoming either or explaining why they ought to learn certain things.

Overall, the complaints I have seem to mostly be genre wide. Lack of communication being a catalyst in stories is grating on me lately. I like the MMCs and they are a bit Alpha Cinnamon roll. I very much so enjoy when the main characters work together. I have listened/read them before and will again. If you’re a person that gets frustrated by these things know that personally I wasn’t having such an issue that I couldn’t listen. I often do better with some irritating characters when I read vs listen sometimes because it feels like it takes longer. I didn’t mind the narration but I usually start listening at 1.5x and adjust as needed.

I also like the overall storyline for the aliens and their politics. I have read and will likely continue to read other stories by the author. So in a nutshell- interesting story, semi irritating FMCs, Alpha-rolls, space, popcorn reads.

Overall a Great Series

Didn’t realize this series contained books I listened to quite some time ago since the description is vague; however, I didn’t mind having it again. The 3rd book was my least favorite and the 4th book was missing male narrator (Todd). I love Todd’s voice as male cordolians, deep and lusty.

a good plot through the series

but it gets lost occasionally. generally the women are strong, although the third book with Abbys pregnancy drove me crazy with how subservient Abby had become. overall it is a nice listen with enough repetition that you don't have to pay sharp attention.

Why did the male narrator only voice book 1?

I wish the male narrator had continued with the later books. The ones with just the female narrator were definitely lacking.

The storylines were cool though. I like how book 3 was a continuation of book 1.
