Publisher's summary

I signed up for a research mission with five other women.

Instead, we crashed on an alien planet with too many dangers to count. Separated from the other women, I’m on my own until a huge alien with color-changing skin and a massive sword gets me out of a bad spot. I don’t understand Savair’s language, but I think he’s under the impression that I’m his.

I am NOT his. I’m a 34-year old divorced scientist with no time for such nonsense. But if he can help me find the others in my group then perhaps I can play at being “his” for a while. It’s not a hardship. He’s the sexiest male I’ve ever met with a jawline to die for, but there’s no way I’ll fall for this guy. Nope. Not a chance…

Jetta makes me ache. I desire her the moment I pull her from a Brakken meat trap. Her soft, warm body awakens hungers long banked. But my Sola, the living ship I am bound to, is dying, and thus, so am I. I must find a way to save my Sola and my mate, or none of us will survive.

Lost to the Alien Lord is book one of the Lords of Destra series. Each is a complete story with no cliffhangers, nor cheating, and guaranteed consent and happy endings.

Includes bonus story Found by the Alien Lord, A Lords of Destra novella.

4.5 Stars

Lost to the Alien Lord is book 1 in the Lords of Destra series. This is an other planet, destined mates, alien romance between 34 year old human, Jetta, and Lord Saviar, a Destran Lord, set in the future. It is a really interesting premise with the lord being connected to the ship, his sola, and the ship being a sentient being. There are some minor continuity issues with language and understanding for various characters, but it didn’t affect the overall storyline. This book is written in alternating POV of the two main characters. Both narrators did a wonderful job. This book ends with 2 hours left and includes the novella book 0.5 Found by the Alien Lord. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. 4.5 stars!

Found by the Alien Lord is the prequel novella, book 0.5, in the Lords of Destra series. It was included at the end of Lost to the Alien Lord. Found by the Alien Lord is about 2 hours in duration. The book is about 32 year old Tarla, co-pilot of the ship that the 7 women from this series were traveling on. The year is 2324. I would have loved to have more on Tarla, but this Novella felt complete enough. I enjoyed it and I am glad it was included. 4 stars.

Quick and Fun

I know most Alien and Human romance reads are due to "mate recognition" and several people get tired of that, but I for one enjoy it! How else do you as a human woman talk yourself into thinking/believing such a situation? I also think its romantic.
I enjoyed the take of the symbiotic relationship between the men and their sentient ships/homes. Makes its believable that they aren't technically advanced but can travel through space. So fascinating! These women are very smart but capable. Think things through, but feel that unmistakable bond.

I really enjoyed it

I liked the characters, it has a good plot, it was interesting. It is worth listening to, I also liked that she didn’t use a bunch of sex as “filler” - there was the right amount, not too much nor too little.

Lost in space!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💚🖤💙❤️💜
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌍
Character development: ☹️🙃😍😘
Narrator(s): 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Jetta - She works for Earth Explorations, Inc. on a research mission in outer space with five other women. They are on their way to Clarion 4 on the Axion 9 research vessel. They plan to spend a year on the planet to see if it will be an appropriate location for a human outpost and trade base. Though they crash land on a dangerous alien planet on the way.

The Hero: Lord Savair - He travels the galaxy on Sola, his living ship. The ship is dying and so is Savair since they are bound together. He is from the Destrin people, from Destra, the most brutal planet where only the strongest, toughest and most vicious survived. He and his hunters were in the forest, finding food for his people. He was hunting a Brakken within his territory which was the largest since he was the one that was bound to his Sola.

The Story: The world building was pretty great in this book. The details of the escape pods on the ship were terrific, including the the description of the crash and where Jetta landed. Trees with clear iridescent leaves, the sap that leaked from a broken branch and smelled bitter. I loved the fact that the escape pod sprayed her with a sweet smelling drug so she didn’t panic and she was equipped with a headset that was computerized and was able to tell her that her ship mates were not anywhere near her.

When Savair sees the fallen vessel, a scent stirs something in him that has been dormant for a long time, when he finds a Brakken meat trap, with a female inside, one with the same scent that stirred him. Though I did find it odd that the Brakken which Savair was hunting, was a beast that seemed at least somewhat sentient since they laid traps and fought with weapons.

Everything was explained very well, though I found myself wondering a few things, like why they didn’t take the ship to find the rest of their people. It was eventually explained, the explanation didn’t make much sense. Though overall, I really enjoyed this one, it had a great story and was very original, great characters and some steamy goodness.

This book is told in dual points of view via dual narration and narrated by Tor Thom and Elle Sonali. Elle has a clear and feminine voice which I enjoyed and Tor Thom has a very deep voice which lends itself well to the genre of alien romance. I have always liked his narration and he does a good job on this one as well.

Fun and interesting story

The story has an interesting premise of the living ships which is different from a lot of other "lost in space" "romance with a sexy alien" books out there. I like the ship and there is some mystery around how it works and what it is doing. It is nice to see something different in these types of stories. A lot of the same though - lost in space, marooned on a planet with a lot of random wrecks on it, evil aliens wanting to capture the gorgeous marooned women yada yada. Some sexy times and a guaranteed HEA. Could have been more sexy times though. Overall a good listen that I enjoyed, on to the next book.

The uniqueness of the alien

I would call this a mellow science fiction romance. I would have to learn more about the Destrians' symbiotic Solorius. Hopefully, I will learn more with the consecutive stories. The fated mate prospective was nice with just the right amount of intimacy. This was a good book.
