Publisher's summary

If you are a woman with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), you've probably known—all your life—that you're different. As girls, we learn which behaviors, thinking, learning, and working styles are preferred, accepted, tolerated, and frowned upon. These preferences are communicated in innumerable ways-from media and books to our first-grade classroom to conversations with our classmates and parents.

Many people associate ADHD with children, but ADHD can also continue into adulthood. Often, the symptoms experienced by adults differ slightly from those experienced as children. These symptoms can present a range of challenges in the workplace, relationships, and in the sufferer’s personal life.

Women especially with ADHD in their lifetime, learn through various channels that the way they think, work, speak, relate, and act does not match up with the preferred way of being in the world. In short, they learn that differences are bad. And, since these women know that they are different, they learn that they are bad. It's time for a change.
This guide will explain exactly how ADHD presents itself in adults and how to tell if you or a loved one may have the condition.

In this audiobook, various topics will be included, like:

  • Children with ADHD versus grownups with ADHD
  • Diagnosis, analysis, and thoughts about the dangers or benefits
  • Social hardships women with ADHD face
  • The question of whether or not ADHD can disappear in a person as he/she grows older
  • Non-medical treatments to fight the symptoms
  • Thoughts on the effects of more or less sex on people with ADHD
  • And many other subtopics

If you are looking for proven effective treatments to get your ADHD under control and take back your life, this audiobook will be your go-to guide.

I LOVED IT! by far my favorite "self-help" book.

Love the way she is breaking down how society see's ADHD, and how the world tries to make these individuals conform to their ways instead of molding the educational world around them.

Inspirational and Actionable

It opened my eyes that I am not someone with a disability but a diffability. I learned a lot on how to deal with my ADD/ADHD in new ways from changing the food I eat to exercise to going out in the world and applying it. Thank you so much.

Well-Narrated! love that so much!

I found this audiobook very engaging. The author has already made me question my beliefs about the information I thought I had learned about ADHD and also how I view myself. Very exciting!!

Very insightful audiobook worth listening to

I like the simplicity of the solution presented by Christen in 4 approaches: physical, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual.

Inspirational

I felt very inspired and feel like some of my confusion was explained. Everyone seems to follow me for whatever reason, I have always wondered why? I think there are some answers here, I just need to ferret them out.

Super 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

As a parent of an ADD teenager and an educator who has had the pleasure of having ADD for my entire life, I really enjoyed this audiobook. I felt that the author was knowledgeable and presented the gifts of ADD in such way that I all parents can understand and begin changing the way they view ADD. I will have my child listen to the lecture and I am certain that he will leave it feeling less like a "child" with a disorder/disease, feeling like he must conform to his environment. He will leave aspired and will feel more like a “teenager” who was created to stand out and not fit in. He will be able to embrace his differences and see them as blessing rather than being made to feel like ADD is a curse.
