Good story w/ great narration.

Rina Kent’s stories are almost always at least 4 stars. This was a 3.5 for story for me, which is still above average. I think the narration enhanced the experience.

Excellent Wrap-up!

I liked the first book more but I enjoyed the HEA in this one! I highly recommend both of them because of the exceptional writing and narration. I’m definitely a fan of Rina Kent now!

well this book was good at first I was done with the back and forth of the main characters. it all worked out it could have used a bit more spice but the story and growth of the characters was perfect. it had just the right amount of action to keep you hooked. all in all its 7 out of 10 recommend.

This review is for both books in this duet.

When Kyle and Rai are wed in an arranged mafia marriage, bother have ulterior motives for agreeing to it. Kyle has scores to settle, and Rai wants to cement her seat at the table of the leaders of the Sokolov family. Women aren't supposed to be leaders, but Rai learned from her grandfather how to attain and use power to get what she wants. As Kyle and Rai play a dangerous game of cat and mouse with each other, they fight to acknowledge their growing attraction to one another, while not trusting their spouse. While they may have some steamy days and nights, it's all purely physical, and something expected of a married couple. Right? Rivalries and peace deals between mafia families are made, and no one trusts no one, but the Sokolov family must all work together to maintain their power.

The second story is much more intense, and full of action. This was a mafia tale full of layers and complicated characters. I loved how the characters weren't just good or bad; they are looking out for just themselves, and some for others they care for, or who can help them. Some people aren't who you think they are; but some are exactly who you think they are. A thrill ride from start to finish. Questions are answered, but some aren't, and you're left wondering...

Shane East and Vanessa Edwin did such a wonderful job w/the narration. This was my first Rina Kent book, and I definitely will be reading more of her work.

Love it

I loved this as a book but an audiobook... wow! Shane and Vanessa brought my Kyle and Rai to life and this conclusion to the duet was perfection. They have crazy chemistry and overall they pair slayed me! My fave Rina Kent couple to date!!!

BEST DUET EVER

This author set out to slay this duet and in pure RK fashion, this duet has been slayed.
I fell in love with this book the second I opened chapter 1. But what really sealed my fate was listening to the audio. Shane East is a master at what he does. The absolute passion and emotion he portrays when acting out his characters astounds me. Hearing him play out Kyle as a little 5 year old with his mom and dad that fateful day that changed his life was heartbreaking. Hats off to both Rina and Shane for that.
And Vanessa playing Rai. Wow. I can just FEEL the strength in her voice which is tough because Rai is SUCH a strong fierce character. This was my favorite duet narration/book by Rina Kent.

Kyle's Vengeance

This book was great! At times, I did not find Rai very likeable but she got better. She was a very strong-willed woman who did everything, no matter what, to protect the Brotherhood. She was even willing to give up and even kill Kyle. She drugs Kyle to subdue him. Vlad beats Kyle so bad when Rai informed him of Kyle's real plans for the Russians that she overheard. Of course, Kyle had his own agenda and we find out more about him and why he is the way he is in this book. Kyle is like a dog with a bone on his mission. There is an interesting part of the story when, during an attack, the Albanians kidnap Rai and one of the guards, Alexander, who looks very feminine. They usually only kidnap women for their men to use and to break. What a surprise when Rai learns about Alexander's secret. This book put us through a lot to get to the HEA and ends with two great epilogues. Shane East and Vanessa Edwin did an awesome job with the narration.
