Some hard truths, delivered with empathy
Yeah, no one thinks they are going to wind up needing a book like this. But, thank god it exists. It's instructive, yet caring. It tells you you're not alone, and gives you some distance to look at things as they really are. Hugely helpful. I'm glad people are going to be able to read this and find some healing. Excellent narrator as well. Recommend!

Brilliant Research
This book is profoundly needed in our times. Listening to this, you can identify the narcissists in your life, as well as the vitims that you might not have noticed before. I sure did. Abby Hudson has done amazing job researching not only the signs and nature of these people, but also to put together a strategy of how to deal with them. A deeply compationate understanding of the problem is the foundation of this approach and the narrator is helping this come through clearly. I think this book would've been more effective if read by a strong authoritive male voice, but that's just because I kept feeling pissed for the victums, while listening to the audio.
Narcissistic Abuse and Trauma Recovery is packed with information about defining the narssisit and the signs of their type in a relationship, Narsisstic Abuse Syndrom, the long term effects of it, dealing with it, and the ten steps to recovery, including: facing the truth of your situation, getting a proper perspective, acceptance that it wasn't your fault, establishing boundaries, facing your fears, and most improtantly, gaining independance. This are just a few of the icredible lessons of this book.
I can't say that I enjoyed it, for the same reasons I loved Shindler's List but didn't enjoy it one bit. However, if you are a woman in a toxic relationship, this book is for you! I dont' know if you are going to enjoy it, but you need it. This can really help you extracate yoruself from this mess and move on to a happier place in life. In the beginning the author makes it clear that both men and women can be narssists and for their victims the nightmare is just as real, but I'm of the oppinion that this book would be more effective for women who are suffering under the terror of a narssist.
Highly recommended!

Loved it!
Great narration although it was spoken a little slow. Gave me a much deeper look at the womans' point of view. I know some men are predators but I've never had such an insight into the nightmare that a child man could be. I have made it a point to stop men like this since I was a child. I kinda wish I was still young enough to prove to these men that they are as mortal as the women and children they abuse. My hat's off to the abused and my heart to you all. I hope these men read this book and find the heartbreak they force onto others. I want them to remember, every woman they abuse is another mans daughter. Dads like me are watching!

Solid info; background and how to heal and protect
I found there to be enough good points made in this book to recommend it as a good read. The beginning of the book took a while to set the groundwork on NPD, CNPD, PTSD, and CPTSD. All great information however I was hoping to receive heavier details on the healing process. But once I got past the intro. I found there to be quite a few good tips on healing and setting boundaries.

Interesting read.
This book focuses on the victims of dating, or having some type of relationship with a narcissist (child, friend, spouse). More specifically, it focuses on identifying common patterns of manipulation/abuse in order for victims to be are and defend themselves. It also focuses on teaching victims how to react and strategically avoid bad situations when dealing with a narcissist, and how to steps to take in order to recover from abuse. Interesting read.

Great Tool
When many people hear that someone is in an unhealthy or abusive relationship, their first question is, “Why don't they leave?”. The truth is it's hard. You get stuck, afraid, and start to believe there is no way out.
Truthfully it's only a belief, and a belief can with the right mindset. This audio will help guide you to a better you. We have to change our old Neural pathways with new ones. This step-by-step outline will get you there.

Eye opening validation!
I would recommend this book for anyone in a current or past relationship that you think is a narcissist -please listen-you will find out you were not “crazy” and the things that happened to you behind closed doors was abuse not only to you but your children.

Compassionate Help
I bought this book for my daughter who is recovering from a very traumatic on again off again relationship with a narcissistic abuser. I wish I could go in and fix everything, but she has to do it herself, although I am here to support and encourage as much as possible. This book is so helpful in understanding and dealing with a narcissist and has a 10 step plan for recovery. The book is well written & organized and has a compassionate, non-judgemental tone. Highly recommend!
