Publisher's summary

Discover proven ways to take back control of your life and improve your relationships by conquering your anxiety.

Anxiety by itself is not a bad thing–it signals our body’s fight or flight response. But if you go through trauma or other stressful events in your life, anxiety can grow into a monster that overtakes every aspect of your life.

This includes your ability to communicate effectively, which affects your relationships, leading to less happiness; you get the picture.

Consider the following scenario:

Jane has a job interview for a company she would love to work for coming up. She knows that she is perfect for the job and is more than qualified. However, her anxiety is causing her to second-guess herself and her ability to interview well.

At night, she lies awake thinking about everything that could go wrong. What if they ask me a question, and I stumble for an answer, making them think I am illiterate? Are they going to challenge my knowledge of the company? Should I be researching them right now?

When the time comes, Jane’s anxiety has overtaken her ability to reason, and she believes she does not have the skills to communicate effectively during the interview. So she calls and says she will not be able to make it because she is sick, causing her to lose out on an opportunity that would have benefited her career in many ways.

Jane’s story is not unique, as she is not alone in her anxiety. There are over 40 million adults who have an anxiety disorder in the United States alone.

The good news, though, is there are proven ways to conquer your anxiety and stop it from affecting the different areas of your life.

In this book, you will discover:

  • A detailed look into anxiety disorders, including their causes, symptoms, and lasting effects
  • Tips on how to recognize when good anxiety has turned into bad anxiety
  • How overthinking and negative self-talk are cognitive distortions that need to be rewired in your brain and how to do just that
  • Ways to recognize and understand different triggers of anxiety so that you are better able to handle your anxiety when the time comes
  • Eight different breathing exercises to do to calm your mind and ground yourself, and one breathing exercise to do with your partner for a stronger connection
  • How food plays a role in anxiety
  • The benefits of spirituality in controlling anxiety including different exercises to use in your daily life
  • Nine DBT techniques to fight anxiety and improve your stress levels
  • And so much more..

When you are in the middle of an anxiety attack, it can feel overwhelming, causing you to lash out, shut down, or both.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. Your life and your relationships don’t have to suffer due to anxiety.

By following the guidelines in this book, you can and will have a calmer mind and life.

If you are ready to stop letting your anxiety control you and control it instead, then scroll up and hit “Add to Cart” now.

Helpful And Informative

This is a great book that will help anyone take control of their anxiety. It describes triggers you may not have known about, how to overcome overthinking things, and how to improve stress levels.

My favorite section was the part about food playing a role in your anxiety levels. This is something more people need to learn about and I'm glad that the author shined a light on it.

This is a well researched, well written, and well narrated book. I highly recommend it!

Ways to deal with Anxiety

The world is full of people dealing with anxiety. It's getting more and more out of control. This book helps you with tips on how to get a handle on it. Besides exercise, breathing techniques, and turning to God, there are many more ideas on how to cope. I especially liked the anxiety journal guide with prompts to help you write out what might be the underlying reason why someone might be dealing with anxiety. I have a son-in-law who is so anxious that he can't even work and provide for his family. I wonder if he would listen to this book. This book could help a lot of people.

Strong tools for coping and healing

This book offers a solid framework for coping with social anxiety, and communication gridlock. Many of the issues I encounter in my daily life stem from how I'm being perceived by others, which ultimately gets in the way of effectively working, and sustaining relationships. Was given a few ways to work around and through these issues, anticipating returning to this title again in the future.

Conquering anxiety in your daily life

It has been said that anxiety is the plague of this century. It truly is. However the worst thing one experiencing anxiety can do is to brush it off and not seek treatment. Left untreated anxiety can escalate into depression and have a devastating effect in one's life. In Controlling Anxiety, Rebecca Golden provides a comprehensive guide on 13 techniques that can be used to effectively treat anxiety and support you on the journey. I particularly enjoyed the section on mindfulness, understanding negative self-talk and reframing negative beliefs of oneself.

Very helpful to me

performance///A busy family life and a challenging job always make me anxious. Bad moods affect my relationships and lead to a lower sense of well-being. It's just too bad. I struggled to find solutions and effective ways to relieve my anxiety. This book has helped me a lot. First of all this book gave me a more scientific understanding of the causes, symptoms and lasting effects of anxiety disorders. I have read half of the book and tried to relieve anxiety through food, which I think is the easiest way for busy people. Sometimes when I'm in the middle of an anxiety attack, I learn to do eight different breathing exercises to calm my mind. Hopefully, by following the guidelines in this book, I can and will have a calmer mind and life. I am still learning, so if you are also suffering from anxiety, perhaps you can try using this book.

Understanding to promote healing

Anxiety has been a huge part of my life since I was a child, affecting my relationships, emotional and mental well-being, as well as my physical health. Over the years, I've found tools to help me cope, but this book came at just the right time and has had a huge impact on reducing the effects of prolonged stress. This listen was wonderful and has made me more aware of what triggers my anxiety and how to cope in a healthy way. It has also helped me to understand where it stems from and how it evolves so that I can reduce the negative impacts on my health. Very informative; I highly recommend a listen to anyone impacted by long-term overly anxious thoughts and physiological responses.
