Story
In this powerful new history, New York Times bestselling author Max Wallace draws on groundbreaking research to reframe Helen Keller’s journey after the miracle at the water pump, vividly bringing to light her rarely discussed, lifelong fight for social justice across gender, class, race, and ability. Peeling back the curtain that obscured Keller’s political crusades in favor of her “inspirational” childhood, After the Miracle chronicles the complete legacy of one of the 20th century’s most extraordinary figures.

Story
Scrappy investigative reporter Deuce Mora is certainly no stranger to dangerous situations—or to getting her clock cleaned, for that matter—but waking up in a swamp next to a plane crash with no memory of how she got there is a whole other order of magnitude. It’s a measure of her desperation that she considers placing her trust in the mysterious swamp hermit with a marginally familiar face who says he needs to hide her in his cabin to protect her from the search helicopters circling above.

Story
Epidemiologist Steffanie Strathdee and her husband, psychologist Tom Patterson, were vacationing in Egypt when Tom came down with a stomach bug. What at first seemed like a case of food poisoning quickly turned critical, and by the time Tom had been transferred via emergency medevac to the world-class medical center at UC San Diego, where both he and Steffanie worked, blood work revealed why modern medicine was failing: Tom was fighting one of the most dangerous, antibiotic-resistant bacteria in the world.

Story
Beth Montgomery seems to have the perfect life: a beautiful house in the hills above Los Angeles, a handsome, ambitious husband, and plans of starting a family. So it doesn't occur to her to worry when the news breaks of a quadruple homicide across town, a botched drug deal that leaves an undercover officer among the dead. Beth certainly would never think to tie the murders to the sudden reappearance in her life of wild, sexy Cassie Ogilvy, the estranged best friend she hasn't seen since they were college roommates.

Story
Detective Renée Ballard is working the night beat - known in LAPD slang as "the late show" - and returns to Hollywood Station in the early hours to find a stranger rifling through old file cabinets. The intruder is retired detective Harry Bosch, working a cold case that has gotten under his skin. Ballard can't let him go through department records, but when he leaves, she looks into the case herself and feels a deep tug of empathy and anger. She has never been the kind of cop who leaves the job behind at the end of her shift - and she wants in.

Justin has a curse, and thanks to a Reddit thread, it's now all over the internet. Every woman he dates goes on to find their soul mate the second they break up. When a woman slides into his DMs with the same problem, they come up with a plan: They'll date each other and break up. Their curses will cancel each other's out, and they'll both go on to find the love of their lives. It's a bonkers idea...and it just might work.

Story
It’s already been a rough year for first-rate journalistic sleuth, Deuce Mora. After two agonizing investigations—one of which won her a Pulitzer, the other of which forced her to kill a man—she claims she’s sworn off action-packed chases that cause nightmares. Still … from the moment she hears the earliest details of the first fire, her detective-instincts say the pieces don’t fit, and every other instinct tells her she can’t walk away from the story—even though she knows she’ll regret it.

Story
Humans are master pretenders—we often seem stronger, calmer and more mature than we really are, while the truth is we’re full of doubts and self-criticism that pushes us to borrow reassurance from friends, beliefs from strangers on the internet, or attention that, in the moment, makes us feel successful, but leaves us totally hollow and burnt out. True to You is a relatable self-help guide for listeners who are affected by burnout and want to learn to live less focused on others’ reactions and more confidently by their own principles

Until robots pack boxes, resolve billing issues, and make fast food, human beings supervised by AI will continue to get the job done. White was 47. As the foremost architect of his day, he was a celebrity.
