A great read, but…

Taylor’s fifth installment of the Boboverse series reads like the introduction to a new arc for the series. In that regard, it feels very similar to the role to Heretics of Dune in its series. Taylor’s strengths are, as ever, his characters, but at this point the series has more of them than ever and they are all competing for screen time.

In an attempt to be spoiler-free for this review I will say only that Taylor is at a point where he has more intrigue than one novel can manage and has needed to start tying off loose threads. His execution is hit-And-miss throughout this novel.

The science is also getting a little softer. Early installments had adjustments to known physics that started small and built complexity from consistent rules. This is something Taylor continues to do—and do well—but Bobs experiencing time dilation have also thrown out Minkowski diagrams altogether, making a departure from established in-universe physics as well as our physics.

In this installment, Taylor improves on including and empowering female characters.

Relationships between Bobs and between Bobs and other computer-sentiences are strongly improved in this installment, and it is a joy to see them interacting.

As always, a lovely read, but does leave room for, uh, hope.

Dennis Taylor delivers again!

I just finished listening to "Not Until We Are Lost", the latest installment in Dennis Taylor's captivating Bobiverse series. As a huge fan of the series, I was eagerly anticipating this book, and I'm thrilled to say it exceeded my expectations.

Ray Porter's narration brought the story to life, as always. His voice acting and pacing perfectly complemented the story.

Overall, "Not Until We Are Lost" is a fantastic edition to the Bobiverse series. Dennis Taylor masterfully ties together threads from previous books, delivering an emotionally resonant and thought-provoking experience.

*Recommendation* If you're a fan of science fiction, humor, and adventure, the Bobiverse series is a must-listen. Start with "We Are Legion (We Are Bob)" and enjoy the journey.

Possibly the best book in the series so far

Dennis E. Taylor weaves multiple plot lines in a way that makes me want to finish the book in one day. The only flaw is that I need the next book in the series to come out as soon as possible so I can experience the further misadventures of the Bobs.

Oh man! Dennis brought back the science stuff, and Ray knocked it out of the park!!. I burned through this book as fast as I can. I just hope it's not 4 years until the next one.

Great pacing, new situations, ongoing character developments, all building to a climax that had me wishing Dennis already had the next book written! I can’t fault this latest installment.

Heading in the right direction

Felt like he wrote it as a setup for more exciting books. Science was more exciting in this one. Excited to see how he approaches the future of the bobiverse
