This Is So Awkward

By: Peoples Media This Is So Awkward
  • Summary

  • This is so awkward…but it doesn’t have to be. These days, puberty starts earlier, lasts longer, and happens with a cellphone in hand. The most trusted voices on puberty, Dr. Cara Natterson and Vanessa Kroll Bennett, are here to remove cringe from this stage of life – not just for kids going through it but also the adults who care about them. With science, guidance and humor, they cover all the physical, emotional, and social changes that happen between ages 8-18 and beyond.

  • How to Talk about Rough Sex
    Apr 19 2024

Recent news highlights troubling trends in sex, like sexual strangulation (often called choking). Acknowledgment of sexual aggression among teens and young adults — and they report lots of it — has motivated many adults to engage in conversations about sexual mores with the kids in their lives… not one of the sex talks they ever imagined having. This episode provides some initial ways into those conversations.

puberty really is complicated for all of us

I loved how they helped us to see that we were not alone in this puberty labyrinth, we all make mistakes and stick our feet in our mouths but we can all backtrack and try again because puberty, how we talk about it, and how our kids deal with it is different for everyone.
I just wish there were more episodes right now, because I'm going through it with my daughter and y'all have helped me to step back and breathe more than once.
