Your mind and body are a package deal. And developing them requires the same steps:
- You challenge capacities to their limit
- You wait for an adaptation response
- You progress the challenge while the adaptation is there
- You rinse and repeat.
When it comes to physical fitness, every personal trainer will be familiar with these principles of training and almost every class you join in a gym will adhere to some if not all of them. Unfortunately, this is not the norm when it comes to mental fitness...
Clinical and sports psychologists tend to focus on treating ill-health from a mental perspective. There are many treatment modalities and psychologists almost inevitably specialize. Unfortunately, periodization and workout design based on training principles is not part of general psychology curriculums. As a result, there are no toolboxes for mental fitness that use progressive training with overload from foundation to function. And psychologists mostly treat and don't train.
In this podcast, we discuss Flow 255, an innovative methodology and technology that was developed by Leon Bax and 2Mynds to help individuals and their coaches train their mental fitness like they train their physical fitness: based on principles of training.
