What didn’t you like about Ken Kliban’s performance?

EVERY VOICE is whiny. And almost EVERY sentence ends in a soft inflection. It's like the ends of his sentences just fall away. I end up focusing on his performance and not the story, which is irritating. I can't wait to finish this one and get on with my life (and the next Mitch Rapp book).

I'm thoroughly enjoying the continuing story arc with Rapp, Kennedy, Coleman and the rest. Unfortunately, the narrator of this particular book distracts you too frequently with his stilted cadence, unusual pronunciations and unconvincing voices (e.g Israeli's sound French)

Great story with very awkward narration

So much space was set aside for the internal dialogue of lovers, that this book does not carry forward the thriller status of this next the Mitch Rapp series. Pretty disappointed.

The only real problem with this audio book, at least if you have listened to previous books in the Mitch Rapp series, it is the narration by Ken Kliban. I think I have listened to other audio books narrated by him and if so I don't recall a bad job. But this narration is actually pretty horrible. The concept and context of emphasis was nothing within the line of the story. Actually had to stop listening and go to other audio books three times before I could finish this one. This is the first written review I have done on here, and felt I needed to because it really did ruin the book a bit. But if a person is going to keep up with Mitch and his adventures one must suffer through some bad storytelling. The story is also a little slow in the first half, and finally takes off in the second.

Narration was bad

Most of the story is pretty good, but I just can’t stand the Rapp/Reilly relationship. Anna as a character is just terrible; she’s not nearly as strong as person as the other characters claim she is. The woman is such a hypocrite,.. doesn’t like to be badgered, but badgers others. Can’t remotely understand a person’s job responsibilities, but expects hers to be put on a pedestal. I want to punch her in the face, and I’m a woman.

The narrator’s performance is incredible grating. Men sounded angry, women sounded whiny. The only redeeming part of listening to this is concluding the story before. But I’m listening to the whole series, so the story fits in the timeline. I’ve listened to the series multiple times, and every single time I want to skip over this one.
