Love Mitch Rapp, not the narrator

It's been a winning combination, Mitch Rapp and George Guidall. I don't have a problem with the new author, Don Bentley, but I do with the new narrator. It is actually tiring listening to the voices all sounding the same. I now fully appreciate the special marriage of writer and narrator. I don't want to see the series end, but it needs a return to Guidall or another actor. I probably would have given the overall and story rating a 5, but I had trouble staying focused with the reading.

The only BAD Mitch Rapp book so far

This book has been a great disappointment. I have been a Mitch Rapp fan from the beginning and have read/listened to every book in the series...until now. Capture or Kill is absolutely horrible. Slow, boring, and a waste of time. Time to find another author or end the series.

Really need Guidall to come back

Incredible story. Excited for what’s to come! I was a little hesitant that this would feel too much like a “flashback” but it fits perfectly within the timeline of past events. Really missed George Guidall. I can only shed opinion based on Mitch Rapp series for this current narrator. I haven’t listened to any other works. The ability to give these characters the distinguishable voices that Guidall has given through all of these books is second to none. This current book greatly missed that attribute.

Not one to remember

I love this series. However, the storyline is a hit and miss lately. I’ll continue to purchase every adventure of Mitch Rapp because of the earlier books. However, this book is forgettable.

Mike Nash back from the dead?

Mike Nash died at his own hand in Oath of Loyalty…this disruption in the storyline is not on par with this series. In fact in the last Mitch Rapp book Code Red it hints at it when it talks of Maggie Nash and her dislike/blame for her husband’s death even though Rapp let the story go as Mike was hero and died in service to his country.

well done first effort. much better than before

appreciate that the author took the effort to show us subtly that he knew the canon and characters by describing past events etc. appreciate that he respected that canon and didnt invent stuff that spit on flynn or his characters like the past blasphemous obscenity we had to deal with. it made me nervous that this author said his favorite book for the previous author was the very book that killed off mike nash. so hope this author doesnt continue that nonsense. he writes well and (spoiler alert) it was nice to see mike back and treated with the respect (more or less) that he deserves. it was nice to see mitch and scotts involvement in the victory over an arch terrorist! i hope he continues in this vein and restores my reason for keeping audible. i wasnt going to buy anymore mitch rapp novels if mills continued writing and hadnt bought them but loaned them out at the library. i bought this title hoping this author would do better. he has - please dont betray that hope.

Fun going back in time!

I really enjoyed going back to the old days. Characters making cameos that can't any more was fun. It'll be interesting to see with Mitch getting older, if they do more of this. It's a great way to keep the books coming as long as they don't start retconning the great lore of the series.

The story itself was excellent. Tying the story into real life events was a nice touch. Knowing that people will live because of the next books didn't take away from it being a thriller.

First off, I loved and got used to George Guidall. The only gripe I have about the narrator is that all the voices were really similar. He has a great voice and inflection. I hope George Guidall comes back, but if not, we get more variety in the voices next time.

Great book

I really enjoyed this book. It was very well done. Well written. Makes me want to start the whole series over and put this one in the correct slot and do it all over again.

This is a flash back book. It goes back to 2008.

Like many others I had thought a train someone was dead. I was dismayed and thought the new writer didn’t read. But it turns out he just went back in time. It took a tale while to realize. Rapp doesn’t even know Claudia yet and Hurley was ill alive.

Slow start them Mach

Slow start, less tie in than with prior story threads. Good character development. Get rid of the 15 word limit.
