The story centers around an augmented human petite woman who is a part time cop, part time bounty hunter/good guy for hire. Who happens to be a Lesbian. She and a young witch are hired to go into the "badlands" to save a rich families loved body guard who sacrificed herself so her much loved family could get out when they were attacked in the "badlands" The Badlands are gotten into by time riffs, and are a lot like the old west. Only with werewolves.
