The Narrator kept the story interesting

wonderful
First of all it's been about a year since I discovered shiv crew. I've read every one in the series and LOVE THEM. So to revisit the first book that drew me in as audio was awesome. The narrator was just how I expected Rune to sound. So she did an awesome job. And sometimes when I read a book and then listen to it I pick up new things I must of missed or didn't fully absorb with my eyes.
Over all it was wonderfully done.
Congratulations Laken on your first audio. I loved it.

Excellent start to a series
This was a very exciting start to a series. There was plenty of action and the narration was excellent. The beginning had some very dark masochistic behavior by the main character and I was a bit uncomfortable with it but I am glad I continued to listen.

A book that will stick with you.
I found the story to be fast-paced intelligent and interesting I'm glad it's a part of a series the main character Runu Alexander really grabs ahold of you and doesn't let go. The the narrator spoke very monotone to me, very even. When the story was exciting the pictch didn't follow, I'm not sure that the excitement came across. She didn't take away from the book and she didn't add to it. I would like to see more audible books from this author.

Monster Hunters
Shiv Crew kept me engaged from start to finish. I liked how the author put a new spin on monster hunting. The story was fast paced with relatable characters. The female lead is weak but I believe part of this series is watching her grow. The narrator was perfect at bringing the characters and story to life. I look forward to more form this author and narrator

A Great Story
This story starts off a bit dark but if you can get through it then you'll enjoy the rest of it. This book is gritty and awesome! I really enjoyed listening to this story. The narration could've been better, Rinelle Harkin did a good job but her reading could have been a bit smoother. The voices were okay but a little more difference would have been nice. Overall it's worth the listen and I will certainly be looking toward the next book.

Five stars and I'd give more if I could.
I have about 500 audio books waiting to be listened to, but as soon as I got to the end of this book I wanted to start listening to it all over again.
The world building is fantastic, it was so realistic and well done that I felt as though I could walk out of my front door into this fantasy world that I was reading about. In fact I think I wish I could walk out into that world.
I love the characters particularly our female lead Rune, there's something so compelling about her tortured existence and the relationship that she has with herself, I found myself rooting for her over and over again and hoping that she would find her peace. The surrounding cast of characters were equally good all of them brought something special to the novel and each showed that they had been planned and well-developed.
I'm desperate for book two to come out so desperate that I may just have to switch to reading ebooks, which I don't normally do when I start a series on audio.
Speaking of audio the narrator did a great job, it complimented the story really well. The tone and pace of the delivery matched the action that was going on, and the characters personalities came through in the voices that we're used.

Troubled tale of the paranormal!
Shiv Crew is the fairly interesting if not somewhat troubling tale of Rune Alexander; a tough as nails team leader whose job it is to protect humans from a variety of paranormal creatures known as Others. Rune has some disturbing mental instabilities of her own to deal with, which usually get in the way of her mission at hand. Duty and loyalty become even more confusing as Others are being tortured and killed. Is Rune now obligated to protecting the Others? This is a strange tale to be sure and I’m not quite sure if Laken Cane pulls it off. Three.point.five for the effort.
