Excellent Sequel!!

This story continues on from the amazing Fate of Wizardoms series, so read those first. Mr. Kohanek begins another epic story full of rich characters and a world struggling with a new reality. I don't want to spoil anything, but the new threat the heroes face is pleasantly well-developed and a far cry from the standard "big bad" that is prevalent in many other series. Also, the climactic fight scene was suberb! Mr. Baldree once again delivers a flawless narration and is perfect for this role. I've already finished Book 2 and should have Book 3 completed by the end of the week. Yes, they're that good!

Adventure Fantasy Assassins for +17 Readers

*** Parents: Due to content level this series would probably be in the R range for movies. While the bad language was mild, there was pretty disruptive gore in the action scenes, lots of sexualized scenes and content throughout- naked bodies, descriptions of breasts, "flags raising" and being grabbed, groping, attempted rape, mentions of whoring, and being used for pleasure.

Warnings aside this was an action packed and fun adventure that deals with magicians, elves, drow, pirates and assassins. There's intrigue with twists and turns that keep you highly engaged in the story. Those that like epic fantasy, like a mix of The Lord of the Rings and the tv show Reign. It's definitely geared towards a more adult crowd and lots of fun.

The narrator did a great job with all the voice differentiation and acting, although I did have to speed it up to 1.3 x speed because it just felt a little slow.

Excellent Epic Fantasy

This was my first experience with Jeffrey L Kohanek's work and it was exceptional. I am going to seek out the next book in the series as I am interested in finding out what happens next. Although one can read this book without having read any of the others, there are times that this book mentions things that happened before that made me wish that I had read the other series that spawned this one. Having stated that, one can still enjoy this story as it is complete in itself. Travis Baldree's narration is exemplary adding a layer of entertainment to the tale. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.

A well-written story from a very good author

Wizardoms: God-King Rising (Fall of Wizardoms Book 1), my twelfth read from author Jeffrey L. Kohanek. Well-written with intricately developed characters you can invest heavily in and the storyline with its intricate twists & surprises as the tension & suspense ratchets up throughout the book’s length. 10 hrs and 25 mins/422 pages but reads even longer with the attention to detail written into the story. Kohanek’s fantasy worlds have become one of my favorite reads. Now I just need to determine the proper reading order for his multiple Issalia books so I can get caught up. “I received a free Audible copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." Travis Baldree's narration adds to the enjoyment of this book. The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to the next book in this series. Fall of Wizardoms:God King Rising

Jeffrey Kohanek does not disappoint in this continuation of the Wizardoms series. New characters and new challenges continue to confront Jace and Nareen. How they confront them and move forward makes for a great adventure.

The picture he paints of the disdain of the Wizard Class for regular people is starkly presented in Lange’s final arena fight. I cannot say more about that without giving too much away.

This book was a great read and sets the stage for much more to come. Travis Baldree continues his great narration.

Heroes and villains abound. I can’t wait for the next book.

spinoff/continuation

this one is about a little over a year after the events of the previous series. Narine is queen (but for how long) as power plays and conspiracies are a huge factor. So worth reading and/or listening to.

A great start to another excellent series!

A great start to another excellent series by Jeffery Kohanek. Whether you enjoy print or audio (narrated by Travis Baldree and it doesn't get much better), you’ll love the first in the series. Overall an excellent story, great characters you want to win and lose, and a steady plot. I look forward to the next in the series!
