An action-packed new Isekai LitRPG Series from the bestselling author of Reborn as a Demonic Tree!

Power up and become an unbeatable final boss.

Damien Nightshade, a discarded royal masquerading as a Professor in one of the continent's greatest magic academies, is considered a mid-level boss—one fated to die in every playthrough.

Now, I have transmigrated into his body.

A game-like world has become my reality, and instead of being its hero, I'm cursed to die a pitiful death as a fated villain.

But why should I accept life as a third-rate villain when I can strive to become the unbeatable final boss?

Don't miss the start of this new Isekai LitRPG Series from Xkarnation, the bestselling author behind Reborn as a Demonic Tree.

The writer really understands the depths of reality and the fact some situations are molded and freedom is from one’s own will. This is also the reason why they write books like these. The book draws you in wondering what will happen next. 5 stars on new run! bravo!

This book is a surprise hit!

Truly great spin on the stuck in an otome. Brought on as a monster destined to be betrayed, the Mc must find a way to survive just another day. Great work, and can't wait for part 2.

Great idea and execution

By all rights, this should be crappy. The setup to the plot is the same old cut-and-paste story of some guy dying and then being reborn into a world that is nearly identical to a videogame he was intimately familiar with - with absolutely no thought or effort put into explaining how or why. We must simply eat this lazy premise and move on.

This story takes the route of the protagonist being reborn as a villain - again, not original or inspired. To it's credit, at least the protagonist remains a villain and isn't secretly a game-addicted nerd that tries to save everyone and is squeamish about killing.

On the contrary, the main character is shackled with a few traits that force his thoughts and actions into the villain's role. This is because he is a noble vampire, and therefore shackled with arrogance, laziness, germaphobia, etc. Fortunately, the main character is able to work within these limitations, both fighting against them at times and using them for his benefit at others.

So, the main idea of the story is that this vampire, hated by his own people and of course humans, must dodge the many death flags that await him - according to his knowledge of the game. Again, a surprisingly tired and uninspired premise from an author who wrote an amazingly original and excellent story about a cultivating tree.

Fortunately, the same writing talent that saved a potentially very boring story about a character that can not move from one spot has also saved this story. The main character as well as all the other characters are well written. The main character, while inherently unlikeable as a villain, is someone you don't mind reading about and even hoping for his success. The other characters are colorful and varied, which breathes life into the story.

The world building is decent and the reader can easily grasp the author's vision. I will say that the magic system seemed a bit muddled, like the author was sort of making it up as he went along and sometimes confused terms and ideas as if he wasn't actually familiar with the genre. While I'm happy he tried to mix things up a bit, I think a little more thought before writing would have improved things.

Similarly, the usual stat spam that plagues the LitRPG genre is present and about average in frequency. Fortunately, we don't get BINGs and level up notices every other paragraph, but we do get character sheets being read to us VERY SLOWLY quite often, so be ready to mash the 2x button at any time.

So, while not perfect and not as interesting to me as the author's other series, this story definitely held my interest and I'm invested in it now. I look forward to future releases.

A Mixed Bag but Mostly Well Done

And I enjoy demonic tree this world is a grim dark one in it's corners if you aren't into that this book isn't for you. Well worth the credit for me. Hard to find books with a villain protagonist.

Liked more then demonic tree
