Publisher's summary

On a continent ruled by three empires, some are born with a "witchery", a magical skill that sets them apart from others.

In this follow-up to New York Times best-selling Truthwitch, a shadow man haunts the Nubrevnan streets, leaving corpses in his wake - and then raising those corpses from the dead. Windwitch continues the tale of Merik - cunning privateer, prince, and windwitch.

Liked the book, not the narrator

Reading the physical copy was much more enjoyable. The narrator was fine until the dialogue. She gave the characters accents which I felt was unnecessary and distracting. Merik sounded like a woman, and the inner dialogue was especially off putting.

Love this book and the witchland series!

Absolutely loved it and couldn't put it down. The world building is incredible and the characters are captivating. This book really took the series forward and will carry you along some riveting adventures! I would highly recommend.

Windwitch

I didn't much like the narrative in this one or the fact that they never all met back together.

An amazing sequel to an amazing first novel!

It was even better than I hoped! Susan Dennard is an amazing story teller and the voice actor really brings it to life with her accents and characters. Read the first book and then read this one!

Overall a good relaxing fantasy story

The story is pretty good, like I said, it’s a relaxing fantastical adventure for when you want to read something light and not to demanding.

My problem is with the narrator, everything was going good until she started doing the dialogue, she made funny and weird accents for all the characters, all of them different and never the same from one line to another. Every time I heard that, it just completely pulled me out of the story. It honestly felt like she was just taking an opportunity to mock foreign accents.

I recommend to just read this story instead.

Merrick loses his Truthwitch!

Merrick has all sorts of trouble. Susan Dennard has a great story. The Narrator Cassandra Campbell tells that story extremely well! The story grabs your interest from cover to cover. Lots of action, mystery and adventure. Book is a pleasure and fast read.

Great story

I was not expecting anything special from this book series when I read the first one, but I liked the story idea and concept of threadwitchs, truthwitchs and all the other powers there are. An original idea...which is uncommon. However I was not too impressed with the first one so left it for a while until my friend asked if I had read the second one…. So I thought why not let's give it a go.

I reread the first one and actually really liked it this time so much that I read the second in the series (this one) straight away! The story was a good one that gripped me at parts and I enjoyed reading. The plot is a bit less predictable than the first one, but seems to drag even with the fast pace. I also came up with the same problem as the first book….. I really liked the book and story…. But I was struggling to understand and follow it. Maybe it's the writing style or my dyslexia but I had to read it twice to understand and really like it.

I would give it a try if you liked the first one and I can see its the ‘development of the characters’ book in the series but it didn't leave me needing to read Bloodwitch instantly.

Enjoyed it!

I didn't really like the narration of the first book but I did like this book (my main issue was with Iseult's voice in the first book). I loved the magic system and the politics now that the 20 year peace truce is over. I absolutely loved all the Iseult and Aeduan scenes. I wasn't really invested in Vivian or Merick's story until half way through the book but then was hooked. I also liked Safi's story but not as much as the first book. I can definitely see this series as a movie franchise and I think that would be amazing!!! Can't wait to read Sightwitch now and then will have to wait for Bloodwitch next year!
