Love the author’s other works. This one was below average, but still miles ahead of other writers.

Didn’t like that there was a cliffhanger without a follow-up book.

Loved the male voice actor.

Why so much inflection in everything you say

I really enjoyed the story. I felt a connection to the main characters. I was rooting for them the whole time.

My only gripe is Joslyns narrator. I’ve never heard anyone talk with so much inflection in everything that is said. It was driving me bonkers. I almost stopped listening but I’m glad I didn’t.

could not get into it

struggled to read, forced myself to finish didn't like story or lead characters. Seems like Kynan was supposed to be strong special ops, but found his character weak and immature. Recently read bodyguard series romance much,much better. (private protectors adrianne giordano)

Had to stop at Chapter 4 - Female lead’s performance was too bad to continue

I don’t like giving bad reviews, especially when the book is by an author I have 5 starred in the past, but I couldn’t keep listening past chapter 4. Imogene Church’s performance struck me as all wrong for this character who was supposed to be 19 but sounded like an really immature 14-year old. The male lead’s performance was good, and the story seems like it would be good, so I am going to read it instead of listening. In the future I likely will avoid any Audible books with Imogen Church involved but will continue to look forward to new stories by Sawyer Bennett.

Immature and whiny

I normally love this author but this book was terrible! Very adolescent compared to her normal writing. I also love the male narrator but could barely stand it listening to the female performance.

Wicked

started slow but got interesting definitely don't like the mother stage mom pushing her daughter to do what she doesn't want to do her daughter's in love with The Bodyguard The Bodyguard quit his job cuz he fell in love with her my mother don't like that my mother wants her to be a movie star even though she is a singer my mother wants to live through her what she didn't do when she was young and she wants to separate them and they're in love how to find out if there's another book to do book 2 to find out what happens can't wait😘😘😘😁🤣😃😳🤪

4 stars, predictable, cliffhanger and unclear which book is ‘next’

4 stars: The books / series were good, and based on my audience - i recommend rereading it = i would recommend it to others.
I only give 5 stars in my top 10% of books.

Narrators

I liked the male narrator but the female narrator’s Reading is not natural. It seems forced-just as not enjoyable.

Fun story

A fun story to listen to. I will admit one of the reasons I got the audible was Shane East. Imogen Church figured in too. Both are talented narrators, so listening to them read anything wouldn't have been a hardship. However, they did have a decent story here. Not a big fan of the rock star trope, but the body guard trope balanced it out. And of course, Shane East. *sigh* But, they left us with an OMG. Not exactly a cliffhanger, but definitely with the knowledge there was more to come. Now I need to go track that down. I find that frustrating, hence the loss of a star on what otherwise may have been a five star rating on a fun story.
