Partly inspired by P.G. Wodehouse's work on the "gentleman's game", the Elkins' place their protagonist on idyllic golf courses, but also tend to involve Ofsted in murder investigations. This series is a favorite amongst golf fans for its realistic depiction of the game, but the books also appeal to people who have never swung a club. Because Ofsted is anxious that she can't compete at a high level in the Stewart Cup Tournament, actress Julia Farhat's young, feminine, and perky voice especially complements the narration.

A very enjoyable read
I was drawn to this series because of the golf setting and wound up enjoying the story lines and the narration. Once started I was eager to get back to it and that is what I look for in a book.
