Gasp! A sleep stealing masterpiece!

Wow. So I have to listen to audiobooks during my commute; otherwise, I get speeding tickets due to my impatience with traffic. Distraction = cheaper insurance and less my husband can complain about. I picked this book due to the reviews and, well, what a perfect last name for a psychological thriller writer! Ha!

The story started off a little slower than what I am used to, but honestly, masterful character development was in action. I refuse to watch movies where I can guess the ending and I refuse to read books where the ending is predictable. No risk of that happening with this book. What a ride!

I like to assume the role of a hard a$$ and declare I don’t waste time of sad movies or books. Truly, I cried so hard when George Washington died in his biography that my husband panicked thinking something seriously awful had occurred when he entered the room. When I managed to squeak out words in between sobs and told him George Washington died, his annoyance was only slightly less than when I get speeding tickets. Well, I ugly cried in this book too. But don’t run away, this book brought out far more audible gasps than tears. The story was a wild adventure that challenges your mind, captures your curiosity, and then keeps you up all freaking night long because you cannot stop until the end. Then when it ends…you want to scream because you do not want the story to end.

Now to find another wild ride…and avoid those pesky tickets.

Absolute favorite!

I love all of Karin Slaughters books but this one was amazing! Couldn’t stop listening! Lots of laughs and tears! Great narrator!!

This may be her best novel

I’ve always enjoyed reading/listening to Karin Slaughter’s books. In my opinion, this may be her best. Even though there were numerous characters, they were non-forgettable and easy to follow. This is a long book, but it kept my attention throughout. The narrators performance was outstanding. Overall, it’s the best book. I’ve listened to in a long time.

I listen to approximately 4 books as week, and am incredibly picky as to which books I choose. This book is, hands down, one of THE best that I’ve listened to in a very long time. I dreaded the book’s end, which rarely occurs. I’m imploring Karin Slaughter to write the sequel NOW!!

I didn’t want it to end

I liked everything about this book. The wait for the new book was worth every minute such attention to detail the storyline the characters. The twists and turns.

Do yourself a favor and buy this book right now. I’m usually very critical of books, but I have not one complaint. I stayed up all night listening not one sentence is wasted the momentum and pace Keep you on the edge of your seat the entire book from word one. You really feel like you know all the characters and will be thinking about them long after you put this book down. The dialogue is terrific and so realistic. And the twist and turns, even the best of you who can figure out most novels will not see what’s coming an absolute pleasure. I wish I could start over and hear it for the first time again my new favorite book.!!’
